Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. On most Ubuntu systems using Firefox 3.5, usually not. I recommend WebDeveloper instead; it's heavier weight, but it works.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.13).To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
