I agree to the recent comments-
I find it quite annoying that while searching for the right add-ons, you constantly find add-ons out of date..

It's puzzling that this add-on, which appeared to work with TB 2, is still listed.
Could there be a cleanup?

It's very poring that such a good tool is no longer supported.
Please give yourself a kick and develop it for TH 3.

This add-on has some bugs. Sometimes addresbooks get lost or are empty after restart! If I create an new one, then this add-on lists multiple books having the same name. Very confusing.

No, this plugin simply does not work. Click on 'Synchronize now' and nothing happens. Have tried various combinations and given up and uninstalled it.
Thunderbird: 2.0.0.19
Might work for some people, does not work for me, therefore FAIL.
Sorry, try again.

I second the request for imap support. I ghad in Pine, way back, and its the best when moving between pc's, certainly with people who don't have their own server (=most)

I really like this add-on. After wrangling with it, and figuring out how to get it to work over FTP... it seems quite good.
I think the author should work on the Sync Status pop-up which gives you some more details, like:
negotiating with FTP host
Uploading file
and a Complete status indicator.
Other than the fact that it's a bit rough around the edges, I think it has tremendous potential! Thanks!

Hi,
I found a bug that may explain why some users say it does not work.
When you synchronize your local AB by importing a mab file from somewhere else, most of the time, it won't work.
Solution : on the "operation" tab you are, first, choose "export to" and uncheck the corresponding box "if newer". Then, you can choose "import from".
You must do this for each operation tab you set.
I will send a mail to the author. Hope he will fix it, but I did not find any ref to syncmab on his site anymore....
Other wise, it works fine !

So close. My server only allows sftp. If SyncMab could utilize sftp in addition to ftp then I could use it.
Keep going!! Sounds perfect otherwise.

Hello,
theres a bug in the tool: I use import / export on 2 machines But if i - unfortunately - add 1 person per account, after closing, only one person exists... look example:
09:00am TB Computer1 started
09:05am TB Computer2 started
09:10am Person "Josh" created @ TB1
09:15am Person "Connor" created @ TB2
09:20am closing TB1 -> saving mab with "Josh" as global mab
09:25am closing TB2 -> saving mab with "Connor" as global mab -> "Josh"s gone...
regards,
dognose

Hello,
This extension is really great, but (there is always a 'but' :-p ) did you plan to sync the mab file with an imap directory ? This feature should be great for some people i think.
Thanks for this extension

Uploads the address book fine. I can see the file getting created on the server. However, will not download the address book no matter what. Looks like it would be a great addon ... if it worked. Don;t waste your time.

I have been using this other synchronizer add-on and can't seem to make it work, then I decided to look for another one. I found this SyncMab and was pretty amazed how it worked perfectly! I just worked the first time and very easy to configure.
Though I haven't tried synching using ftp, http, etc. but with connecting to a network share it works brilliantly! Keep up the good work!
