I use this extension daily when studying and reading. Its really handy being able to press "g" and load grammar site for further reference

Have used this for ages and it's wonderfully helpful, but pop-over background is transparent in FF56 making it very difficult to read.
Developer's bug report channel seems to be long-broken (since 2011), so reporting here instead

Hello, everyone!
I do like this addon, and actually, would like to contribute to it. (At least I can update the CEDICT version and add some bells and whistles I kind of miss.)
Does anyone know how I can contact the author and, perhaps, fork this addon? (Maybe, rewrite in accordance with the new WebExtensions API?)
Cheers!

Well, it works. It's not near the level of the formerly working best pop up dictionary Perapera, but it does pop up with one or two lines of translation. Sadly, it shows only simplified (簡體字)and not correct Chinese(正體字).

This is a great add-on. I think it could be improved a little bit by setting off the Chinese definition with maybe some borders around the mouseover text.

Have used ZhongWen now for over a year and half on multiple versions of Firefox. Has always worked for me, and has become one of those add-ons I can't live without!

Doesn't work with the newest firefox! 3.6.13 I hear great things about the software, and I'd really like to be able to use it!

is it just me or does it not work with Firefox 3.6 anymore?
Also would be great if it could easily be disabled at the bottom of the screen. Sometimes it can be very obstructive when browsing Chinese websites.
Still, i loved it while it worked!

thanks a lot for this addon, really a non-intrusive alternative, the popup fits the exact size.
Great for searching word-by-word meanings/pronounciation.

This looks really good, and works better than perakun which is currently only letting me use every 3rd character.
Thanks very much Mr Yuen. It's very very very much appreciated.

In agreement with Jan Jordaan above.
Also, would be nice to add actual sound beside the Pin-Yin, but that does require a source of the audio.

The experimental version works wondefully with FFv3.5.5。
I will promote this add-on to Perapera-kun users.
Thank you Mr. Yuen for improving the life of your fellow human beings~

It doesn't work with the last firefox version!!!

Good:
- Intelligent compound entry recognition
- Shift button enlarges Chinese fonts
Bad:
- Needs a toggle-key to disable/enable the pop-up

I think this program is great. But pleaaase make a way to turn it on and off by using a hot key. And pretty pleeeeease make it silent! Hearing that stupid sound everytime I switch between words is doing my head in. I'm sure that sound helps nobody. As much as I like it, I just can't use it until those 2 things are fixed.

Works well and looks nice but I can't find a way to turn it off and on. I don't always want the popup...

Great Add-on! Can you please make it so you activate the translation by a hotkey?
Sometimes, I do not need translation, I want to be able to turn this feature on and off. Thank!
