I only have two complaints and they might be able to be resolved but I haven't figured out how to solve them just yet after searching all over the net.

1.) The no scaling option for the thumbnails does not center your images so that you won't see the background color on the thumbnail dial. It takes part of the image and zooms in on it instead of centering the entire image itself. There should be an option to NO scale the image itself so that you can only see the image CENTERED in the thumbnail dial.

2.) It takes a while (for opening a new tab) roughly 3 seconds for my about:blank page to load up with the thumbnails and custom background. When I was using Fast Dial (which I've recently switched over to try out Speed Dial) as soon as I clicked on the new tab button my about:blank page with Fast Dial would immediately load up with all of my thumbnails and custom background. It wasn't sluggish and it didn't take 3 seconds to load up.

Other than that I like it. I would recommend it. It is very customizable and unlike Fast Dial the developer (so far at least) doesn't include spam in his updates.

Although, I do have to say I think Fast Dial slightly wins out since it is more customizable, but the developer is horrible at updates though.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.0.3).

I don't know about Fast Dial, but Speed Dial will never contain spam, malware, or any kind of unintended software bundled with it.

About "no scaling", it should center the thumbnail, and not scale it. If there's scaling, then there's a bug, and it would be great if you could contact me with the details.

About the second, are you using Firefox 3.1 beta? I noticed that in that version it takes forever to load, and I believe it's because of a bug in the cache system. I definitely plan to fix this before the final Firefox 3.1 version.

I'm surprised that you don't find Speed Dial customizable enough. Perhaps you refer to the thumbnails "theme"? Functionality wise, it has the ability to open programs, documents, execute javascript and more.
