Please add a "mini mode" to this extension. Otherwise, I'd say this is a perfect add-on. Thanks!

It is already there actually. You can get Options window from Tools / Add-ons / Download Status Bar / Preferences way, switch to Appearance tab and select Download Panel from User Interface. It will place the icon in add-on bar as default but if the add-on bar is hidden it will place it in Navigation toolbar.
