Provider for Google Calendar
Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Used to be a big Thunderbird user. Now coming back and hoping things work the same. Unfortunately not. Provider works partially by syncing a few calendars in Google, but not my primary calendar. tried everything I could think of and did a search to find solutions but no luck. and don't have any more time to play with it. so, although definitely worth supporting this developer (if it worked), I'm moving on to find a tool that works easily. oh the joys of software..

looked for quite a while to find a toolbar hiding add-on. some worked sort-of but not well. Kinda wish the title let me know more of what this add-on did as i skipped by it several times thinking it was a theme or something. definitely feel like making a donation on this.

Organizing notes with this add on is nice, tagging is a great feature. unfortunately the search functionality, which I kinda think it essential, does not work. Perhaps in a future rev. giving 5 stars but uninstalling due to lack of search.

really needs to have most recent messages on top of the threads not on the bottom which requires looking more to read them. good idea, but not quite ready for everyday use. too frustrating. If you want to check out a program that does threading very well, look at Postbox email client.

just installed and compares nicely to apps like Readability, Instaread might be better, quick, simple to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars
updated review after developer added a better description and instructions (thank you). extension works pretty well and can potentially make organizing of emails better when using sub-folders. it essentially rolls-up emails in certain folders. would love to see it rollup non-smart folders. not sure if it's an essential add-on yet. will keep using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Taking time to review because it's a really needed tool to manage email. I've avoided using filters in the past because of having to dig into folders but this makes it easy again. So simple yet apparently overlooked by other developers. Surprised I haven't seen this before. I now have a core of essential thunderbird add ons and this is one of them. I may need to donate to alex and alex given the headaches this solves in organizing complex directories and inboxes. I'm still testing but initial impressions are quite good.

Exactly what I was looking for. click on an email and up pops the note I had written giving me more info about why I saved it. You know feature requests could go on and on but this one is just fine as it stands.

Rated 2 out of 5 stars
not pleased, I wrote the prior review "Thank you, Great Add-on" before I started running into problems. I have 3.1.9 of Thunderbird, don't know if other versions affected. Somehow in the sync with google calendar this app screws up something. I've now lost access to 2 newly created calendars in google. Google error message, "this calendar did not load" i.e. it's gone? Uninstalling before it breaks any other calendar. Hope you all have more luck.

have been using "lightning" extension for several years with "provider for google calendar" extension but was never happy. I now prefer this for managing my calendar. Why? 1. Lightning does not let you customize number of viewable calendar days. It just lets you see one day or a week. This is important if your actively planning your work schedule by moving tasks around. 2. Even though google calendars can be added in lightning it takes longer and you still have to go to Google to manage calendar sharing etc. Issues: not all Google calendar features can be accessed via this app such as "show only this calendar" and changing color of a calendar although these sync after changing them in Google. Other than that this is finally the best solution for using Google calendar as a task manager which is really the best use of a calendar after all. For example: Top of the calendar I have "All day events" from my "daily work" calendar which I use solely for tasks. then I add specific times for doing those tasks as events which can easily be moved around.
Thanks again to the developer.

followup to prior review. the more I use this program the more features I uncover. saving scraps of info from web, discovery of related sites and content, I now am using 9 social media accounts with it and it works flawlessly. The only thing it doesn't have is scheduling of posts to twitter etc. If your into social media, this is the best. congrats to Yoono, well done.

small interface and customization options makes this an excellent tool. just tried and am impressed. now I'll see if I can break it (LOL) like how many accounts can I have running. ability to post notes to blog is also cool so far so good. might give Hootsuite a run for their money.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Excellent add-on. I use thunderbird on my PC and Gmail Manager on my laptops. This is perhaps the most useful add-on yet for email. Might have to make a contribution on this one. now if they could include yahoo, aol, and windows live accounts that would be the ultimate.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is a very useful (even required) add-on. not sure why I had some issues installing on my laptop running vista. But It's running now and works well. Did you know you can send emails to Ping.FM ? Using SendLater to schedule tweets to Ping is the solution to managing twitter and other posting sites. This is the only tool I've seen that will do this. Very Cool.

got it working after uninstall of thunderbird. not sure if I was using v3 but am using v2 now and it's ok.

has alot of promise but seriously messed up my thunderbird account. be very careful installing this with "Provider for Google". Somehow reminder fox could not accept sharing with the google calendar and the program blew up. Worst part is I can no longer uninstall reminderfox or Provider for Google Calendar and email is now totally fkd. Hate to say this but will try Opera mail since it looks like Thunderbird has to be reinstalled. carp. I can't be the only one that had this problem.
