Let's Thunderbird seamlessly be incorporated into any Linux flavor by using the default notification setup of your current distro. I had a bug using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS not showing incoming email notifications using the standard settings, this add-on solved the problem and gave me more control over the notifications.
