You say to copy it into the profile folder but it is already there to begin with

Response: Folder is marked as Read Only. I unchecked and it returns to Read Only.

XNote folder is in my profile folder but the "Import Legacy XNotes" is greyed out, cannot select.

Locate this folder:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxx.default

within the xxxxxx.default folder created a folder and call it chrome

open the chrome folder and add a new text document and name it userChrome.css

now open userChrome.css with notepad

paste the following code exactly:

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* set default namespace to XUL */

* Make all the default font sizes 12 pt:

Note: change the font size and font family to your liking
Note: you must restart Thunderbird for changes to take effect.

Awesome!! Every time I add a note to an email I think how fortunate it is to have this addon. Being able to add a "Pop-Up" note to an email is great when you need it.
