This extension is to output the number of unread messages in all inboxes into the temporal file /tmp/testUnread. As a result, this output file can serve as an input for other applications to read and show notification either on a dock bar or on the menubar.
I create this extension in order to be able to show the number of unread meassages on my macbook's menubar. I constantly set the dock bar to be auto hiden. Then, it is not noticible for me anymore that new unread mails have arrived. By developing a simple menubar application name TB Unreader Counter, I put an icon con the menubar which periodically reads the output file from the extension and changes its appearance to give me notification of new unread mails.
