I'm a new user, looks cool so far. Thank you, great work! I think this is how APPLE Mails work by default. :-) (At least I get replies from Apple users with such stripped images.)

Ideas: Image names like this could be decoded:
Firefox%20deb%20csomag%2C%20t%C3%BCk%C3%B6r%20a%20Debian-alap%C3%BA%20terjeszt%C3%A9sekhez.png

And maybe if one image is selected in the text, only that one should be replaced, allowing to keep some images if needed.

Thank you! Works perfect with Proton Bridge account.

Can you please make it compatible with non-bridge accounts too? So that either it completely disappears or it shows correct status for GPG messages. (Normal Thunderbird GPG with non-ProtonMail account.)
