Works fine on 3.5pre (2009-06-05) when I force it to install with Nightly Tester Tools. No strange characters as in Hans’ link, either.

A lite version more akin to Safari’s “Activity” window would get 5 stars and be much appreciated.

ChatZilla

Far better than mIRC.

Edit: I’ve now stopped using the extension version because I got tired of having to quit IRC every time I needed to restart Firefox (which is quite a lot, since I use nightlies). Now I use the XULRunner version from http://chatzilla.rdmsoft.com/xulrunner/ .

Since Firefox 3 has XULRunner built in, all you have to do is unzip the ChatZilla files and create a special shortcut.

In my case, the target is “"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -app "C:\Program Files\ChatZilla\application.ini"”. (I’ve also changed the icon, which is Firefox’s by default, to the one in ChatZilla’s \chrome\icons\default\chatzilla-window.ico file.)

Yahoo! Mail Notifier

This extension is great, and works fine with Firefox 3. I’d give it 5 stars if it supported multiple-account checking.

BTW: An “invalid username/password combination” error when you know your password is correct is likely caused by blocking third party cookies without setting an exception for yahoo.com (as mentioned in the FAQ). This should probably be mentioned in the error message itself. (Or, better yet, would it be possible to have the extension set the cookie exception itself?)
