I use Cardbook since years and I am very happy with it. I use it with the adresses from my Nextcloud.
But now it does not work any more with TB 159.0
It will not add new adresses and it stops my calendar.
I use it on Windows 11

Tout d'abord merci Philippe pour cette extension qui est très bien.
Je dois vous envoyer un don, il faut que je recommence, car j'ai eu un bug il y a 2 semaines quand j'ai voulu le faire.
Par contre, j'ai un souci sur la version TB 159.0 (64 bits), je n'arrive plus à afficher les coordonnées de mes contacts en mode modification: tous les champs sont vides.
A vrai dire, je ne sais pas quoi faire.

I used and recommended CardBook for years. This year, it has not kept up with the frequent Thunderbird updates. The most recent CardBook version, 107.2, will not sync with Google Contacts, and I cannot even make local changes--when I open an entry, all of the fields are blank. I liked CardBook's ability to display Google Contact Notes . I used one or two words to remind me where I knew each person. The Thunderbird address book will not display Notes, but it occurred to me that I could move Notes in Google Contacts to the Company field, and Thunderbird address book will display that field. Obviously, Thunderbird developers know what changes are coming and they don't have to release changes until they are checked. With CardBook, Philippe doesn't have much notice of Thunderbird changes, making it hard to keep CardBook functioning. He has my sympathy, and I wish him well, but it's time for me to switch to the Thunderbird address book.

Bonjour, depuis la maj de thunderbird en v159.0, cardbook refusait de s'ouvrir.
En regardant la console d'erreurs (CTRL MAJ J), j'ai constaté que les erreurs évoquaient les skins. Je suis passé du skin automatique (= système) en le forçant en mode clair et..... Cardbook refonctionne ! Voilà, si ça peut aider qq'un.
Après s'il y avait possibilité de transvaser les contacts cardbook dans les contacts thunderbird (une sorte de sauvegarde quoi), ce serait top.
Edit : eh bien non, on a la réapparition de l'extension (et surtout la possibilité d'accéder aux contacts mais point de réapparition de l'extension suite à l'affichage des contacts généraux dans TB. Même joueur joue encore :'(

Cardbook fonctionne avec TB 159 sous linux mais il bloque l'agenda. plus d’accès possible aux agendas tout semble figé
Tout est Ok quand je désactive Cardbook, mais bon c'est une super extension , je prefere donc le réactiver et tant pis provisoirement pour l'agenda
la version 107.5 dans le lien ci dessous corrige le problème, merci Philippe

Bin sehr zufrieden und CardBook ist für mich unerlässlich, aber seit heute funktioniert CardBook nicht mehr. Auch ein Entfernen und neu Aufspielen hat nichts gebracht. Bitte prüfen

CardBook ist auch für mich ein sehr gutes und wichtiges Add-on. Leider ist bei der letzten Aktualisierung TB 159.0 etwas schief gelaufen, so dass CardBook den Kalender blockiert. Die Kalenderansicht wird bei aktiviertem CardBook nicht geladen und keine Termine sind sichtbar. Mit deaktivieertem Cardbook ist der Kalender voll funktionstüchtig.
Ich würde es auch begrüßen, wenn CardBook in TB integriert wird.
Danke für die Entwicklung und dieses Add-on!

I understand that TB versions are coming out a lot faster lately, which I don't think is the right thing to do, particularly when changes in versions of TB breaks CardBook.
I have been using CardBook since 2019 and cannot operate without it. But unfortunately the autocomplete is broken with TB 157 and worse in 158.
Can you address the required changes to make CardBook work again?
I wish CardBook were fully integrated into TB (like Lightning became the de facto TB calendar years ago). Then we wouldn't have those upgrade problems.

Finger vorerst weg. Man vergeudet sinnlos Zeit.
Leider auch mit Funktionen und Einstellmöglichkeiten komplett überfrachtet und die angegebenen Funktionen gehen nicht. Vor allen Dingen kann man weder vorhandene Adressbücher dirket aus Thunderbird importieren, noch findet man eine Möglichkeit vcard Adressbücher zu importieren. Da ist noch viel Entwicklungsarbeit nötig und bis dahin ist das Adressbuch von Thunderbird mit seinen Funktionen deutlich besser. Ich halte dem Entwickler die Daumen, dass er das AddOn zu so weit bringt, dass auch Spenden fließen, weil bereits nutzbar.

Sorry, nichts für mich. Ich habe das Add-on installiert, weil ich gelesen habe, dass es angeblich die Geburtstage in einen Kalender übernimmt. Soweit bin ich nicht gekommen. Nach der Installation kannte Thunderbird keine Email-Adressen von bestehenden Kontakten mehr. Wenn ich das richtig interpretiere, importiert das Add-on weder bestehende Adressbücher noch bestehende Kalender. Sprich ich müsste alles neu machen. Sorry, dafür habe ich keine Zeit. Wenn CardBook wirklich besser ist, als das was Thunderbird standardmäßig mitbringt, sollte es direkt in Thunderbird eingebaut werden. Für Spielereien fehlt mir die Zeit und die Geduld ...

Works well when it works, but new releases of Thunderbird break the add-on, which is a problem for users who have incorporated CardBook into their contact management.

Thunderbird has since switched to a two-week release cycle. However, for months we have observed that Cardbook consistently lags behind with every new version; every Thunderbird update breaks Cardbook. I don't know how the backend programming works, but my other extensions continue to function without issues. Since I have no other choice when it comes to address book quality, I am now wondering what to do.
