this addon works exactly as desired and brings back the folder view switching buttons to thunderbird 8.

thank you very much, mozilla, for omitting this feature in thunderbird v8. please make it an option, so we can spare another addon. better today than tomorrow.

Essential! This is exactly what I've been looking for.
Caused by GoogleCal- and Zindus-Sync, I've always had at least THREE password boxes at each Thunderbird startup, which has been driving me insane for months.
Now with the StartupMaster extension, my peace of mind has returned.
There's only ONE dialog box requesting my master pwd, and it can even be configured to quit the app when cancelling this dialog.
This feature should really be integrated into the Thunderbird & Firefox source code.
