正にあったらいいなと思っていたアドオンです！
ただ私の環境ではアドレス帳にLDAPサーバーを登録しているのですが、その場合、ローカルのアドレス帳に登録されているメールアドレス以外の差出人は空欄になってしまい、使用できませんでした。

Auto Address Cleanerというアドオンを使用しておりますので
今回のバージョンは(受取人に対応した事で)特に便利になりました。
既存のカラム（差出人・受取人）の内容置き換えも便利だと思います。

大変重宝しており、バージョン0.2から愛用しております。
また、検索フォルダでも使えるようになってさらに便利に感じております。

現在は差出人(送信者)のみの対応となっておりますが、
受信者の表示名にもアドレス帳の名前を適用することは可能でしょうか。
# 返信や転送メールは、自動で相手の設定した名前が表示されるので・・・
次のバージョンアップでご検討いただければ幸いです。

A small bug I found is that it doesnt work when you group by sort order. e.g. View | Sort By / Grouped By Sort - This is a problem for me as thats my default view. Thanks Takahiro!

Awesome idea. I've been wanting this for so long! I've been using the Thunderbird 3 beta, but unforetuently its not working. Im downgrading just to use this extension! Please upgrade the extension for version 3 which is being released to public very soon. I appreciate your hard work.

So simple and so useful. Allows instant recognition of senders even when their message doesn't provide a "friendly name". Glad I found this clever little tool!

Very nice and useful tool.
I agree with Leon Simpson, that the column title should be "Sender name" and not "Display Name"
Now it seems, I have to restructure my address book in order to display lastname, firstname. But with this the display name is quoted. Why? Is this neccessary? Or are there other means to display last, firstname?
One bug: the column order of "Display Name" is not saved in Thunderbird 2.0.0.12. After restart it is always on the very right side of inbox.

Does exactly what it says. Just remember to add it under the columns viewed. Saves me the effort of trying to get people to clean up their send from address.

Seems to do what it says on the tin perfectly. I wonder why this is not the default behaviour in Thunderbird?

this extension is great. A good feature which i tried to develop was to create a new column, which combines the subject and sender like:

Roberts Name: Subject XYZ

so a lof of space would be saved :) maybe you can find that useful.

Sender Name 0.2をダウンロードさせて頂きました。
すごい！！！今まで表示されなくて困っていたので、
感動的です。

ただ、表示名と送信者の位置を隣同士にしたいのですが、
表示バーの位置や長さを自動記憶してくれなくて、いつも、
表示名が右端に来て、長さも同じになっているという
点を直して頂けると大変嬉しいです。よろしくお願いします。

このアドオンは私にとって、とても使いやすいと思いました。
私はメールの相手がほとんど携帯電話のため、今までメールアドレスしか表示されませんでしたが、このアドオンを使うと、名前が一発で表示されるので、とても見やすくなりました。

Pretty good, but a couple of suggestions for improvement:

The "display name" for senders not in the address book is shown in brackets: this is irritating. Also, it should be called "sender display name" in the message list pane, not "display name", as this is confusing.

Secondly, it would be helpful for some modifications to be made such that emails from services like facebook, which don't necessarily send from exactly the same address each time, could be detected. Obviously, I can simply add every address they use, but this is a bit of hassle...
