I'm using 3.0.6 under Linux and it does exactly what I wanted. Bonus points if I could bind the functionality to a hot key (I haven't looked in depth on how to do this).

I am just adding my voice to the chorus when I say thank you. I am using Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 and wanted to keep Thunderbird in the system tray along with my other always on communication programs such as soft-phones and instant messaging applications. Your add in makes that possible and it does just what I was looking for.
