It would be nice if the addon would check the darkness of the picture in the area where the date is so it can adjust the color accordingly. In about 1/4 of the pictures I get it's impossible to see the date. You might want to see this https://github.com/kennethcachia/Background-Check
PS If encoding of JPEGs is done client side I think youu should use MozJPG
