This used to be a great add-on helper.
I used it for Firefox and Thunderbird.
Damn shame the author has let it go.
I hope a technically competent person will pick it up.

This Firefox Add-on saves me a lot of time and hassle. Many won't know that it also works beautifully for Thunderbird; see http://www.longfocus.com/firefox/updatenotifier/ . I wish you would add it to the Thunderbird add-ons page for the benefit of those users.
