This add-on provides ability to import E-mail accounts from Netscape Messenger 4.x to Thunderbird. If there are multiple Netscape Communicator 4.x profiles, then this imports each NC4.x profile as a Thunderbird mail account.
Migration wizard
Migration wizard starts in the following two ways.
Overriding setting values
If a setting extensions.nc4migrator.override.<setting_name_to_be_overridden> exists, this add-on overrides the value of <setting_name_to_be_overridden> with that setting value. For instance, by arranging a setting pref("extensions.nc4migrator.override.mail.server.*.empty_trash_on_exit", true);, this add-on overrides the value of <mail.server.*.empty_trash_on_exit> with true, and as a consequence, Thunderbird automatically clears trashes. Special setting value [[CLEAR]] let this add-on to ignore the corresponding setting by leaving its value empty.

- Launching Thunderbird with no accounts.
- Selecting "Tool" -> "Netscape 4 migration wizard".

- Currently only IMAP mail accounts can be imported. POP3 accounts are not supported.

- Clean up ("Expunge") Inbox on Quit
- Empty Trash on Quit
- IMAP server directory
- Show only subscribed folders
- Server supports folders that contain sub-folders and messages
- Personal namespace
- Public (shared)

- Allow server to override these namespaces
- Outgoing Mail Server
- Outgoint mail (SMTP) server

- Use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) or TLS for outgoing messages
