Search UPC search plugin uses the searchupc.com database to lookup product names, prices and where it is available online. The Search UPC add-on enables you to enter the digits printed on the UPC products directly in the search bar, so that you easily identify the product and where it is available online to know more details.
You should type all the digits including any numbers to the right or left of the bar code itself, even if they do not line up with the main row of numbers.
This should be 13 digits for an EAN/UCC-13, 12 digits for a Type A UPC-A code, or 8 digits for a Type-E (zero-suppressed) UPC code. Anything other than 8 or 12 or 13 digits is not a UPC code! (And just because it's 8 or 12 or 13 digits doesn't mean it is a UPC.)
The searchupc.com engine accepts numbers only.
