Thanks for the fast response to Thunderbird 140. I wish Quicktext 6.3 would show up in the Thunderbird add-on search. Quicktext is a really great add-on. I can't write emails without it. Thanks!

Excellent add-on that saves an enormous amount of time.
Thanks for the latest pre-release update on github, it works perfectly after updating the AddRecipients script.

John, Thanks for your reply, but you did not answer my question. Here it is again stated differently. In Quicktext 6.3 where is the json file with my templates? For example, in Quicktext 5.n, my templates were in C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\i5adwwjh.default\quicktext\templates.xml. I could work directly with the xml file. I could edit the file with a programming editor and I could copy the file with either bash or batch scripts or with Windows Explorer. Thanks!

Modern WebExtensions cannot access your local file system anymore. The data is now stored in a Thunderbird DB ("local storage") which is not accessible from the outside. If you need to manage your templates from outside of Thunderbird, you need to use "managed storage". For further questions, please open an issue. This review system is not intended for support.

Quicktext is by far the most intuitive and useful add-on for email templates in Thunderbird.
Please consider updating it to support the latest version — many of us rely on it daily and would love to see it back in action.

Love Quicktext.
This morning it was suddenly gone after an automatic update by mozilla. Please help us users by making it compatible with v140!

Thunderbird ma już wersję 141.0. Póki co wstrzymuję kolejne aktualizacje, ale prośba aby zaktualizować dodatek quictext do tej wersji poczty, ponieważ praca bez tego dodatku jest bardzo utrudniona i wydłużona :c

Great functionality — this should be a default feature in Thunderbird! I hope a compatibility update for version 140 is released soon.

It is still not compatible with TB 140
Edit 30.07.2025: Now it works, great!

Bonjour,
À nouveau, Thunderbird a une nouvelle version qui rend QwickText incompatible.
Sans QwickText, Thunderbird ne me sert à rien et je devrai l'abandonner.
Peut-on espérer une mise à jour ?

Comment faire un don ? (si la mise-à-jour se fait)
…
(J'ai trouvé comment faire un don, ce que je ne manquerai pas de faire si la mise à jour est faite.)

I’m sticking with Thunderbird 138.0.1 – your add-on is worth it.

Thunderbird updates hardly ever bring new features anyway.

Instead, the updates tend to break features – because add-ons no longer work.

Why isn’t Thunderbird backward compatible?

P. S. And what Quicktext can do, Thunderbird should surely master natively by now - after so many, many years of updates!

This is not Thunderbird's fault. Quicktext is using an ancient technology instead of being a modern WebExtension.

A pre-release of v6 (which slowly moves into the right direction) is available at https://github.com/jobisoft/quicktext/releases

I'm sorry, but version 6.3.5 won't install on TB 140.0.1. Where can I get a version of Quicktext that works on this version of TB?

I have been using Quicktext for four years.
Now, I had the bad idea updating Thunderbird to the newest version. I can't use Quicktexte anymore.
I hope the dev will be able to release an update !

It suddenly disappeared from my email because it was not compatible with the latest version! It was very useful, so it is inconvenient. Can you make it compatible with the latest version?

When I got to work this morning and saw that the extension had disappeared due to incompatibility with the latest version, I was really SCARED! I went to download the BETA version from GitHub, and I want to say that so far I haven’t had any issues and I’ve recovered my pre-saved emails! Thank you for your work!!!
