Neither 0.3.3 from a.m.org nor 0.3.4 from Mr. Gillick's website work in FF 3.6.3. In fact, a previously installed version 0.3.3 with bumped maxversion did work in FF3.6.3 until I updated to 0.3.4. Now clicking on options (either version) in the add-on screen freezes the screen. Restart firefox and Uninstall is the only option. Hoping for Mr. Gillick to provide a release that works again since it is very much missed! Five stars for functionality, one for support and update experience over the past years. Average three stars.

Great add on! Except it doesn't work.

Installed. Restarted. Copied bolded text. Pasted into gmail. Guess what? Still bolded. Does. Not. Work.

I'm not sure where I got it from, but I'm using version 0.3.4 on Firefox 3.6.2, and it seems to be working perfectly.

Does not work for 3.6 freezes ADD ON window and then crashes FF

Doesn't work under Firefox 3.6 Rus.
No context menu item and settings window doesn't opens - it freezes FF and only killing the process helps.

Works great, but it really should let you "paste as plain text" rather than just "copy as plain text". That would be more consistent with how other programs like word processors work. I always forget that I want plain text until I go to paste it.

Tip: Under options it lets you turn on plain text as the default mode.

I use Copy Plain Text many times per day. If it doesn't work with a forthcoming Firefox upgrade, then I won't upgrade Firefox until it does. It is a very simple piece of functionality which I believe should be part of Firefox's core functionality.

For those who have issues using this addon with FireFox 3.6, please uninstall FireFox 3.6, install Firefox 3.5.X, install this addon, then reinstall FireFox 3.6.

If anyone knows why upgrading from FF 3.5.X to 3.6 works and just installing FF3.6 on a new machine doesn't work, please enlighten us.

I use a program called PureText available at: http://www.stevemiller.net/puretext/.
It resides in system tray and is easily utilized whenever you want to paste as text only.

I used to love this extension, nice & simple, did what it was supposed to do. But, it no longer works right with my ff 3.6.

I just found this one today for anybody else looking. It hasn't been updated since 2008, but it does work.

Not maintened since november 2006 ...

When I go to the option of copy plain text, Firefox 3.6 crash/freeze.

Does exist a similar extension ? compatible with autocopy ?
