I've been using this extension for years and it has become absolutely essential to the point that is one of the main reasons for using Firefox as my main web browser.
the versatility that FF had with Session Manager + Switch container and other extensions is not achieved with another web browser, which was lost from the minute they stopped making compatible Session mamager forcing me to try to find a way to replace it ...

Session Manager not compatible with FF57! I have dozens of sessions that are critical for years of work. Firefox, you've got to make this work! The only plug-in that I've ever DEPENDED upon.

I organized my whole Bachelor thesis tabs and windows in this session manager. This manager is just awesome and it would be insanely awesome, if you continue your work on this one.
I also thought about fixing this myself. Due to time reasons and i never developed firefox plugins, it would take a longer time for me to do this.

Session Manager is by far the best, most useful add-on I have used on any browser ever - but I can no longer use it due to the automatic update to FF 57. Session Manager is hugely important for my work and browsing experience. My ability to use FF is now severely hamstrung. We must all make every to keep this great add-on compatible with FF and usable for the community. I hope FF see sense and enable compatibility for FF 57 with Session Manager.
A call to arms: as a community we have to ensure ourselves that this issue is fixed. Another user in the reviews below has suggested we encourage/pressure the FF developers into fixing this by voting on the relevnat bugs on Buzilla. PLEASE update for Quantum! The automatic update to Quantum has lost me THOUSANDS of tabs spread across a bunch of sessions, which were really organised and helpful thanks to the magic of session manager. Quantum is 100000% not worth it as of now :(

I can't believe that Firefox has automatically upgraded me to 57 (Quantum) without giving me the option to review and accept such dramatic changes. Lesson learned: don't trust anyone to handle your upgrades automatically. Manual only from now on.
Session Manager was my most used and useful FF add-on and as FF seems to be trying to mirror the functionality methodology of Chrome I may as well submit to Google and do all my browsing on Chrome.
Does anyone know if Chrome can handle a Session Manager equivalent?
Also, can anyone tell me if I can roll back FF to the previous version?
BTW, as I should be reviewing Session Manager I can say that is one of the most useful and unobtrusive add-ons, works like a dream and as I said above, my most used feature in Firefox.. A great add-on Michael. I hope that the FF team sort the APIs to enable you to bring this back for us.

ein Add-On, von tausenden genutzt und in der Funktionalität nicht von anderen erreicht, wird einfach *OHNE WARNUNG* aufs Abstellgleis geschoben?!?
geht's noch?!?
jetzt schon danke alle Entwickler, die ihr bestes geben, um Session Manager wieder lauffähig zu kriegen!!!

Just another user frustrated that Firefox would remove session manager! Just lost so much information without warning. Going to try to see how to go back to the old FF version as well.

6a4653 that's almost the same I've told them on reddit. Unless Quantum will have all the APIs required for this addon, I won't upgrade and probably will just eventually switch to another browser. If devs need some extra motivation to do this work, I agree to contribute.
