I was extremely happy with this add-on. I wish to compliment the maker with the result.
I have come to the conclussion that it isn't working anymore in the latest version of thunderbird. I hope that Steffano or somebody else can find time to update this on.

Only exports your main folders. If you have more than one email account it ignores them. This extension serves no purpose.

Great add-on, used it a lot.
Would use it again if it would work on v. 3.0.4

Please update the extension "Smartsave" so it can work in ThunderBird 3.0 or later version. It is an extremely useful extension.

PLEASE update this to work with the latest version of Thunderbird! I too will contribute. This is the kind of extension that ought to be part of the basic installation (& you deserve compensation for the good work).

As above! Please do upgrade it. I have been using it to store some folders and now I am stuck. I would pay a fee for the upgrade. If you do please let me know admin@webspecials.com.au
Thanks Alex

Addition does not work with Thunderbird v.3.0.3.

This was perhaps one of the most useful add-ons for earlier versions - exporting individual emails with filename parameters to specific folders is a necessity in my business, & no other add-on could do that. Unfortunately, that ability is broken in the latest TB releases, so it is back to saving & individual renaming. PLEASE update this add-on to wark again as it did before. I would even PAY to get this back!!

Try this instead. Worked for me (tb3) very well:

Really good add-on. I used it oftenly to export old mails i want to archive. It helps to maintain TB content light.
Unfortunately it doesn't work with TB-3.0.1 although it is indicated (TB 0.8 to 3.0.*). Hope this will change, I miss SmartSave since I upgraded TB to 3 and I can't downgrade TB-3 to TB-2.

I got the same problem as the other users here. It's not saving anything, anywhere (local or in LAN). Only shows JS-errors
* Win XP Pro 32bit
* Thunderbird/3.0.1
* SmartSave 0.1.5.2
This tool ranks at my top three for Thunderbird, so hopefully you can make it running on TB3 soon :-)
