Congratulations!! Change works perfectly well, no bugs, no problems. Very good plug-in. But PLEASE! add ARGENTINIAN PESOS currency conversion. Or include a "custom currency" item in the currency list letting the user manually enter the rate for that new currency and its symbol. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you. Hi,
this is one of my favorites Add-On for Mozilla, very practical for me because I'm from a euro based country and I buy a lot of thing in US and UK.
But sometimes I have a very big problem, Firefox doesn't start when this add-on exists (just happened now 9:30 GMT - 6 November 2007), to make Firefox work I just have to kill the process (no firefox window exists) and delete this extension directory :(
Could you please check what is happening, thanks

This is excellent. A nice feature would be automatic currency detection. Most of the pages I have used it on have things "$225" or "225 AUD" etc. I always need to convert to GBP. "Change" could smart detect the source currency and change it to one or more reporting currencies.
Please put the bank designation after the currency in the drop down. eg. Cyprus pound (cyp?) this is a useful lookup when I don't know the mapping.

This could be a really good tool with some customisation options. I mostly want to covert US to Canadian $, it would be useful to me if I could specify the default from and to currencies instead of having it always start with Euros to US$. Maybe even include it in the context menu with a selection list user-selected from and to currencies.

The titles says it all.
And the last release just fixed the annoying non-sorted currency list, which makes it much more usable ! That's important to me because I use it SO MUCH !
So, THANKS !

First off, congratulations on not just writing another extension, but adding some real value to FF extensions. There are way too many extensions that does not really do anything useful, but just do the same thing in 5 different ways.
There are a few improvements I would suggest:
1. Too much clutter (Would still like tickboxes)
Add tickboxes to the currencies in options so you can select which ones you want to see, or at least order them in some way. There seems to be no order. I have to search for GBP every time I want to use it. I'd love to have only 3 currencies visible in the drop down list, and don't care for the 20 odd others that just gets in the way.
2. Manual update --> Done (not outdated anymore)
I don't want to change this into something that can be used to flood the bank with traffic, but mine is usually at least 3 days behind. I'd love to be able to use today or yesterday's rates, but not last week's.
3. Correct descriptions (Done)
Change does not display the correct description of the currency when I hover over a currency in the drop down list with the mouse.
4. Automatic currency recognition
Another user requested this already, and it would be nice to have, but might be difficult to implement accurately in some cases. I'd put the other three issues above this one, as they hamper productive use more than this.

Good extension, converts numbers in web pages by means of the exchange rate between two pre-specified currencies.
What I would like to be added to the extension is automatic recognition of the original currency from the symbol ($, €, ₤ etc.) or abbreviation (USD, EUR, GBP etc.) in front of the amount. That would make it much more useful: you could quickly convert any monetary amount on a web page to your own currency.

You can set the default currency this way:
Open a blank page (type about:blank in the address bar).
Set the FROM and TO currency on the toolbar...
It will now be the default currency fo each new domain for which you did not chose another setting...
And, yes, even if you close and reopen Firefox...
Okay, you could not have guessed... ;-)

Change is wonderful !.
I only wish that it had support for Indian Rupee (INR) or at least an option to specify my own rate for a currency. Right now I am unable to use this nice software fully.
