This add-on was so nifty and useful, it made me sign up just to post the review :-)
Simple, does what it's supposed to be, that's what it takes to get 5 stars.
My only missing feature: add support to use the app via the search engine bar, for tracking numbers that aren't in a web page.

It's great, I use it often. Is there a way to set it so the tracked package opens a new tab rather than a new window>
Thank You

Thanks Dave for this very useful application but is it possible to apply this to other operators like the Finnish Itella oyj tracking system here?

Works great for my needs with the tweak to the Canada Post string - thank you!

Canada Post tracking number consistently forward you to Fedex. Unfortunately, CP has many forms for tracking numbers (depends on destination, origin, type of shipping etc.) Here is quick fix for 16 digits most commonly used for TN: open options/regex and edit regex for CP to something like that:
^\d{16}|(CA)$
While this is great extension, tuning to your needs will take some time and some basic knowledge of regex (quick reference at http://www.regular-expressions.info/reference.html)

This solves my pet peeve... an e-mail that shows the tracking number, but does not create a link.
Although sometimes I have the problem of getting a link in an e-mail that sends me to a page with a tracking number as plain text - and this extension for Firefox solves it beautifully, more often I get a plain text tracking number in the body of the e-mail itself.
This extension works great in Thunderbird, too! Double click to highlight, and Track Package will be in the right click context menu - and it will open a browser tab with the info!
If you're not sure how to add this to Thunderbird: After you "install" this to Firefox, do yourself a favor and save "link as" to your desktop, and then go to Thunderbird "Tools>>Extensions" and click the install button. Point it to the file on your desktop, and there you have it.
