I've tried disabling all addons and just running ImportExportTools to save the email in pdf format. The same result occurs.. a one page email churns into 70-300+pages in pdf with blank pages.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.2).

This bug - as well the regression with saving in CSV format - should be fixed in 3.2.1 version, uploaded now.

This add-on is the only way I have found to import my Thunderbird emails on Windows XP to my new Thunderbird on Windows 8.1. It works great for this task, although why Mozilla's Thunderbird should require an add-on to import its own emails when it can do Microsoft's Outlook automatically is difficult for me to understand...

Procedure to transfer Outlook PST to Thunderbird:
1. Convert PST to Mbox (e.g. by using ReadPST -which is rather complicated but I don't know any other sucessful tool)
2 Use the ImportExportTool:
It works, BUT: any folder structure will be lost, i.e., you must sort all your emails once again into the provided (but empty) folders
-> no thanks, I got other business to do

Works well, but often causes "another operation is in progress" errors when doing things like multi-xpunge (via addon), or "Go Offline".

Cannot select fields for export (id est read-state, tags et cetera) makes this worthless.

Sorry, but I felt completely lost when trying these tools.
I am an experienced Windows and Linux user, but I have never seen such an simple task like moving emails to another PC made so extremely complicated!
There's bazillions of options and no useable explanation at one of them telling me what the individual option would be good for.
I exported using the "Export Folder and Subfolders (hierarchically)" option, because it sounded like the most comprehensive export option from all the options being shown )how shall I know?). Then it took about two hours copying the exported 7GByte of files through one very slow WiFi connection - and then Thunderbird on the target PC, which i also had installed the importexporttools to, couldn't do anything with these files I had exported and copied!
A bunch of files with no declaration or at least proper file ending.

So I'll have to do it all manually again and wasted countless hours fiddling around without any chance for success with this AddOn.

Too bad some people out there still use thunderbird and need help with such a supposedly easy job. I know why I don't use Thunderbird and never will...

Works rather fine-
Tested with OS X 10.10 and Thunderbird 31.3 an import of an old outlook mbox file and it works - including formatting and all attachments (at least as PDFs). A small drawback:It did not import subfolders of folders. I serialized them all before creating mbox files and then it works fine- Super! Very gracefull for this tool :)

It didn't work for me. I wanted to export the settings from one machine to another. I selected export profile and it seemed it just copied the profile folder, but the operation took horribly long. I transfered the exported folder to another machine, selected import and after aproximately an hour it still showed "importing", CPU idle, no disk activity. I retried several times. So after wasting few hours of time I gave up using this addon and I did the task by just using "cp" command which finished the task instantly.

Great App
I think attachments should be saved ALL in one Folder "Attachment" and a sub folder per mail to avoid crowded root directories.
instead of Attachment-1, Attachment-2
probably it could be even a hidden folder

It does exactly what I need: from time to time I want to archive email-messages to cleanup the workingPC.
I save the messagefolders in 2 formats: in EML format: that allows me to put an archive back. And I also save it it HTML, for convenience. The author creates a folder and an file Index.html. Now, THAT is nice !

There is need to use advanced option which converts each component of Thunderbird like mailbox, contacts, folders and attachments into Outlook PST file. On this basis, I selected Stellar MBOX to PST converter over ImportExportTools for best result.

Trying to migrate to Thunderbird form Windows Live Mail on a Win7 box is proving to be one big pain in the ass and this Add-on is proving to be near useless. It is importing one folder of saved local messages at a time. So I have 7 out of 37 imported. And it gets better - only one folder shows any emails. Folders with known dozens of messages are empty. Including folders with financial transactions. This is all giving far more grief than I need and I am thinking this whole thing is just one big steaming pile. I see plenty of praise for exporting, and it may do that well. So far it can't import worth a damn. And now I have wasted more time trying to warn others.

ImportExportTools worked flawlessly, importing my 350 Eudora v7.1 mailboxes (with 117k emails) into Thunderbird 3.0 on a Windows 7 machine. While I had prepped the mailboxes with eudrescu (without errors from eudrescu), Thunderbird crashed every time I tried to import the messages. Thank you for building and maintaining this great add-on. The UI, in particular, is very elegant.
