I just installed this Plug In. Previously I have used several RSS feed readers that were all Stand Alone Clients the only problem was they all used IE. If I could I would uninstall IE that how much I dislike it. So now that I have a full function three pane Reader like all the other stand alone clients I have had and disliked. I am now happy to use one that not only uses Firefox but is a part of it and IMO it works the best. Thanks!

I daily used NewsFox without having to face any major problem. However this morning, all my newsfeeds completely disappeared. My newsfeed folders are totally empty! All that without any valid reason. I restarted several times Firefox 3.6.8 but no newsfeed reappeared at all! How can that happen with a recommended add-on as "Newsfox"?! I am very disappointed and will not recommend this add-on anymore at all!
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5).Have you tried to check the folder where NewsFox stores feeds' info? It performs backups, so it is very difficult to lose feeds with NewsFox.

Very useful addon! Thank you.
I was searching for a simple yet functional feed reader add-on for a long time, I tried number of addons but none matched my needs. I already decided to use Thunderbird for this sole purpose, when I came up to NewsFox. It is what I was searching for.

Gotta completely disagree with everyone who says this is a 5-star app.
Plain and simple, the add-on changed the "primary" feed folder three times on me (different times I opened the browser).. Instead of putting everything in the default FEEDS folder, every time I opened it, it would add the primary feed to a random folder each time. And then I couldn't change the default feed folder at all.
It also blanked out a couple of folders, after which it listed the folders with no-names but I couldn't do a thing with them.

it is good, it does exactly as it says in the description. I have not run into any problems with it as of yet but I agree with what gumby32 said and when using a very large amount of feeds I find RSSOwl or google reader easier to navigate and sort with, hence 4 stars.

while i hope newsfox DOES NOT automatically marked the article as read unless i manually click the icon.

Just great. Simple, yet flexible. I have chosen Newsfox to replace my standalone newsreader.

The Group feature performs awkwardly. I could only drop-and-drag one feed at a time; I had to continually close and then re-open the Group Options window to move an additional feed. Users should be able to move multiple feeds at on time.
On top of that, the grouped feeds appear not only in the new Group, but they also remain in the parent menu as well. That seems like an exercise in redundancy.
For people with a small handful of feeds, this add-on can be very useful. However, for users with large numbers of feeds that need to be grouped, there are better choices for off-line readers (e.g., RSS Owl among others).

I love this reader, but an ongoing issue has led me to search for a replacement. The bug, an extra scroll bar in the reading pane in FF 3.6 on OS X 10.6, has been submitted to the developer but has not been resolved for some time. When it's resolved, I will give 5 stars.

I was looking for an RSS reader to stand in for Sage, which is being worked up to FF3.6. NewsFox claims to be work with FF 1.0-3.7aPre. So, I d'loaded it. When I reloaded my browser, imagine my 'joy' to learn that NewsFox is not compatible with FF 3.6. What's up with that?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.6).It's better to get new versions at html://newsfox.mozdev.org/installation.html#next to avoid AMO problems. There you can get version 1.0.5 or 1.0.6.

I was looking for an feed reader with the ability to only show articles from a feed that matches a specific filter. You can do that with NewsFox by creating a search group. Excellent!

One of my most used and preferred extensions for Firefox. The restore backup feature is a blessing. The RSS sorting and easy to navigate features keep this as my favorite for Firefox. Any chance you'll ever make this for Chrome as well?

Doesn't work with FF3.6RC1. Any ideas?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.6).You can get a newer version at http://newsfox.mozdev.org/installation.html#next or at AMO in the sandbox(not sure how to see the sandbox at AMO). Or you can complain to the management at AMO as they've had the newer version since November 11, 2009, unless I don't understand how to submit a new version with their new system.
