I have two accounts, one for work and a personal one which I switch constantly.
Chrome has the feature built in and now with this add-on I can do the same with firefox. Now please try implementing it to firefox 57 when it launches!. Thank you!

This addon will not be compatible for future releases of Firefox. Do you know some alternative? This functionality is essential for me.

Works for Firefox Developer Edition (v55 x64) with e10s Multi-process enabled, unlike alternatives, but could use addition of Open Profile Folder, if possible, as extensions providing that don't work with e10s.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.6.1).Thank you for your feedback, I knew that it works with multi-process enabled but I didn't test it with last versions.
As you probably know, with Firefox 57 all XUL/XPCOM based extensions will stop to work forever (sigh!!!!!), so for me the last official compatibility is with Firefox 52.
Of course in this situation it's impossibile to add new features for Firefox, I just hope that Thunderbird will keep XPCOM/XUL support long yet.

Extremely useful and helpful! Almost 5 stars except that it is difficult to set options to launch links between Thunderbird and two Firefox profiles. Frequently get "Thunderbird|Firefox is already running" error. Sometimes links clicked from Thunderbird open in non-default Firefox profile.
(MOZ_NO_REMOTE and new_instance options need to be documented better).
Unfortunately there isn't a perfect solution for that problem, it's a limit of Firefox/Thunderbird core code. If you're not on Windows, the better option is to use "new_instance"; if you're on Windows, try to reset "MOZ_NO_REMOTE" at startup.

Profile management in Firefox is not complete without this addon.

Really good add-on, it used to say your Profile Name with an option but 4 and 5 no longer seem to work in the latest version of Firefox.
4) you can see the name in the icon in statusbar/addon bar - this doesn't work since the old status bar is now dead and gone. See https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Basic-Browsing/What-happened-to-the-Status-Bar/ta-p/18698
5) you can see the name as tooltip in the empty space on the tabs bar (just on Firefox) - not even sure where this is supposed to be.
3.5/5 until 4) is fixed. Or at add the option to make the icon bigger. So it can be
Example:
<colored icon> <profile name (optional)> <drop down for more options>

Good:
Easy to launch Profile Manager
Switch profiles easily
Not working/Missing:
Current profiles name appears RARELY on Windows Thumbnail (windows task bar)
Profile name is not available on any tooltip or icon
Good to have:
An option to view profile list and choose from that on clicking the addon icon. Currently, we can have launch Profile Manager or switch from one of the profiles using this icon.

I just use that switcher first time. it is easy to use and write the new profiles correct to the "profiles.ini" automatically. Cool that add-on.

One of my favourites. As the original author discontinued his work because of the hard switch to WebExtensions I really hope that somebody translates this AddOn to WebExtensions API...

This is exactly what I needed for my firefox, the ability to run two profiles simultaneously. I was not a happy camper when I switched to firefox and realized it was not as seamless as chrome to switch profiles but this add on fixes all of that. Except for one little thing.... I cannot figure out how to make it open a specific profile by default. Currently it is opening my personal profile when I open firefox and I would like to set it to open my work profile. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I am about to pull my hair out :(

Many times when I go to switch to a different profile, the list doesn't show. I try to refresh the list, but it doesn't work. Sometimes I have to reinstall the extension or restart Firefox, but that doesn't always work.
Aside from that I like the extension and would give it a five star if that were fixed.

Just what I was looking for.
Proprio quello che stavo cercando.

I love this add-on but regularly it shows a strange bug that I can't seem to get rid of. I just can't find where it could come from.
Randomly, the Yes/No button preference cannot be set to "Yes/No" and will remain on "No/Yes". Not a huge deal but my fingers are used to having the Ye button first, PLUS.....it does not do this on all my PCs. At the moment I get the problem with a Windows 8.1 PC with the latest version of TB. Thought it came from the Pswitcher version so went back to 17.5.1-signed, but to no avail.
Also, when uninstalling and reinstalling, all the prefs come back. I did not find how to reset the prefs.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks Paolo for looking into this.
I installed the latest version 1.7.5.1 but it still didn't fix the problem.
I then went to about:config and changed the property of "extensions.profileswitcher.use_onbeforeunload" to false in all the profiles I have created and I can finally switch between them again.
Install the 1.7.6.1 when it will be approved by AMO and try to revert that preference to true, it should work as expected

Oh no, I can assure you it's this addon. I only ever get that error when it's enabled.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.5.1-signed). This user has a previous review of this add-on.Very strange, it could be a conflict with other extensions, because I've never seen this.
