I have installed this addon for thunderbird two and a half years ago and it kept running stable since then and I haven't lost any data ever. I never really explored its features until recently I had tried stand-alone organizers (Mozilla sunbird, Korganizer, ...) and was sick about their complexity and still their lack of simple and useful features. For examples, a reminder that tells me that something is going to happen at 2009/2/2 is completely useless for me because the date format is ambiguous and all I actually need to know is how many days away this date is (except when you love calendar arithmetics...). This simple demand could not be found in neither of those stand-alone apps but in this innocent firefox/thunderbird addon.
The developer(s) have made some clever features for normal people to make this addon most convenient and useful.

absolutely essential for me as I spend most of my day in firefox.... man, firefox could come up with a firefox os, may really beat the Chrome OS... Great feature list, easy to setup and use.

Like Jim on here I too had a terrible problem with 1.9.1 version not retaining any reminders I typed in. I'd save them and then they would disappear. It was extremely frustrating because I really rely on ReminderFox every day, it is so helpful. It's just that version really started not letting me add things. I'm still getting the box sometimes not being expanded when I double click the little icon. I was distraught about not being able to save any reminders and the big reports didn't have anything about it. I give this 5 stars for when it works as intended. The previous version I give ONE STAR because it's just got something heinously wrong with it.

Lets say, a Quick alarm is set. when the alert of it comes, focus is set by default to Ok button. But in earlier versions, it was on snooze button. That time i just use to press enter key button inorder to snooze it. But in this version, focus is set to Ok button so inorder to snooze it i have to use my mouse each & everytime i wish to snooze it.

829k seems a bit heavy compared to other reminder type extensions (~22k). It seems you have a calerndar-y mindset. Thought about tossing code at the mozilla sunbird project?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.9.6).A lot of that is attributed to a number of icons used for toolbars and UI elements, etc. But a larger part is just the evolution of a 5-year piece of software, as new features continue to get added. I like it, and even though there is a custom repeat option, it would be great if there was a "Semi Annual" or "Quarterly" option for the repeat dates. My business taxes are due quarterly, and my car insurance, web hosting is due every six months. So those are common billing cycles and should be added as default recurrence options.

Any one else having Thunderbird pop up with the alarm? I love the program, but the new update has changed this feature

I'm using TB 3.0b4 and felt the absence of ReminderFox. I am happy with this new version and very happy to have contributed financially to some continuation of the project. Thanks to developers.

got it working after uninstall of thunderbird. not sure if I was using v3 but am using v2 now and it's ok.

has alot of promise but seriously messed up my thunderbird account. be very careful installing this with "Provider for Google". Somehow reminder fox could not accept sharing with the google calendar and the program blew up. Worst part is I can no longer uninstall reminderfox or Provider for Google Calendar and email is now totally fkd. Hate to say this but will try Opera mail since it looks like Thunderbird has to be reinstalled. carp. I can't be the only one that had this problem.

My husband and I were very happy to find RF because we need to share important work reminders. RF comes closest to our needs by miles, but it doesn't work as promised which is why I gave it a 3.
Our reminder.ics file is hosted on icalx and we've set RF to sync, but mostly it doesn't sync at all. My reminders go on my system and stay there. His go on and are lost. We've made sure we aren't adding them at the same time in case one might overwrite the other. I've looked at the FAQ and checked everything I can think of on both our setups, but the sync is not working for us. :-(

great thunderbird add-on for someone with a bad memory like myself. only issue i've ran into is that the automatic syncing to my FTP server does not work right. I can manually import/export without problems, but when i create a reminder on one machine it never automatically adds itself to reminderfox on the other. Also, if I delete reminders they are not removed from other machines, even if i manually export after deletion. If I could get around these problems this would be perfect...

Great interface usability and incredibly complete: let's you subscribe to .ics (Google calendar), alerts have a snooze button, link to URL or file, context menu..
A must for anybody like me that tend to lose track of time browsing.

====UPDATE===
Now that I've been using it for a while I wonder if it would be possible to add an option - I think should be added to all reminder apps - that says: ' If the alert is not executed after X time (eg. because the computer was off) cancel it'
It would avoid getting tones of alerts popping up after, for example, going away on vacation.

Extrem nützliches Addon und bei mir ständig in Gebrauch! Zwei Updates wären noch schön: ein neues, cooleres Icon und eine richtige Import/Exportfunktion für Termine ;-)
