.4 is really great. The refresh button as well as the refresh all are good additions. This add-on is really starting to shine with the continual updates. I disabled it for a couple days to see if I had gotten use to it. I actually did, i found it a big hassle having to go to all the sites to see if they had updated, instead of just going to SD. Use it all the time. GJ

Love it. I'd love the flexibility to change the number of speed dials that are allowed.

Not as fast as Opera's, closing a final tab still leaves you with an "about:blank" page instead and the inability to drag tabs to/move pages around is disappointing. Otherwise this makes a great homepage for power users, and comes in handy when you start opening and flipping through tabs. Great work, be nice if the Mozilla team integrated this like Opera!

I love this, especially for my 2 and 4 year old, who recognize the websites I have set up for them by the thumbnails. Bookmarks would be too complicated at this early stage. They both know to turn on the computer, log into their account, open the browser and then click on the website they want to play on.

Thanks a lot for your great extension.
It would be really nice if it could add the feature to move around the thumbnails. Also being able to have more than 9 speed dials is useful too.

It hasn't blown me away exactly but it is one of, if not the most useful extension for Firefox. My first rate was nit picky as it just didn't work... After testing this, I see basically all problems vanished and it works next to perfection.
One bite about the thumbnails though. Sometimes they never refresh or don't refresh properly. I see the throbber moving for eternity and I can't get it to refresh for the life of me.

I would recommend downloading this extension but its not as detailed as Speed dial in Opera. Speed dial needs the following features which can be done in Opera:
reposition the thumbnails
set the refresh time
add web pages from the Speed dial screen
Both speed dials unfortunately can't take snapshots of flash content. I'm not sure about Opera but the Firefox version with not display pdf content either. The firefox version has larger thumbnails which is nice but it would be better if both allowed you to zoom in on certain areas of the website. That way you can isolate weather radar or news headlines.
Even after some of the lacking features I would definitely recommend this for Firefox.

Great idea, and looks okay. But in Linux (FF-2.0.0.4) it's horribly slow - Just trying to mouseover the boxes seems to bring this machine to its knees (the CPU is going crazy), and it's a dual-core 2.8GHz Xeon!
Also it would be nice to be able to set the size of the boxes so they're don't have to take up the whole screen... more like Opera's speeddial. I tried reducing the "Thumbnail Size", but this just made the previews more pixelated, it didn't actually change the size of the box shown.
Maybe having smaller boxes would help with the speed issues too.

Thank you very much for you cool extension!
And don't forget to add "opening tabs in background via Ctrl+mouse button ;)"

Thanks so much this, I installed opera just the once and this feature was the only thing I saw about it that I liked, thanks so much for making this extension!

I tried out Opera for a while to see if I liked it. It was alright, but I still like FF much more.
One noticeable feature that I liked in Opera was Speed Dial. I love that I can now have it on Firefox.
I also love that to get to my favorite sites, I just do CTRL+[assigned number]. I use it everytime I use Firefox.
Thanks!

I love it I think it needs some work on the appearance to make it look more finished but that something I hope to see in updates I would like the option to drag and drop to change the positions if you understand that

This extension would be benefited if you were able to set how many speed dial "windows" are in the tab and how they are arranged and sized.

Very nice, I used it instead of my startpage :)
Small hint for people who just start, set the start page via Bookmarks->...
I would like to see this improvements:
(I guess Joseph is already working on it)
- Updates of the previews
- Hotkey to launch this overview
Thanks for the great add on!

Great Add-On. Thanks! Would be really cool to have live sites on each re-load. I use Speed Dial as my home page. It would be great to see updated pages on each Re-load. Thanks again.

I am really happy to see this feature implemented, thanks, Josep - I loved it in Opera, too. One thing: the thumbnails seem to be static, not updating even if I pressed the corresponding button manually.

I saw this advertised for Opera and liked the idea. I even installed Opera to check it out. I like the refresh option, but it would not display my gmail or google reader pages. This extension displays a nice thumbnail of both pages, but doesn't refresh. Hopefully a refresh or reload option will be available soon. If it can do that, it has a chance of replacing all of the bookmark icons on my toolbar (or at least 9 of them). If I am going to have to click on it anyway to see if there is an update to the page though, I may as well stick with the toolbar icons.
The only other thing that I can think of that would be a great improvement to this extension is if it offered a "zoom" option so that a page thumbnail would increase in size as you moused over it to the point that you could make out the contents better. Something like what Tab Scope does for tabs added to Speed Dial thumbs would be great.

I discovered Opera's Speed Dial and wished for a Firefox extension. Wish granted.
Like another reviewer mentioned at first it's hard to access. You have to add a link to your toolbar or do as I did and make Speed Dial your homepage. Beyond that, the plugin works great. Good job Josep! The only thing I'd like to see is a drag and drop feature. ;-)

Excellent extension. Works without a hitch and delivers the assigned site lighting fast!
Would be so nice to be able to add more than just nine pages.
Great extension nonetheless as it stands.
