I have really missed Forecastfox since the new FF versions came out. A huge thank you to those posting the workaround! Yay!

Firefox v29 or v30 install two plugins "The Addon Bar (restored) v3.2" and "Forecastfox v2.2.4" and "Forecastfox" will display in the toolbar at the bottom of the display. If you do not see it click on View>Toolbars>click on the box next to "The Addon Bar'

Install version 2.2.4 from this link:
https://static.getforecastfox.com/downloads/forecastfox-latest.xpi

Though unless you've moved it from the add-on bar, it won't appear unless you also install this addon:

Will not work with Firefox 30.0 just like it didn't with FF 29.

looks lovely and functions flawlessly in all versions of FF.

...a special thanks to those who posted the necessary links and easy-to-follow instructions on how to install this immensely useful add-on.

Does this add-on work with the new FF v30? I am not updating until I find out if several of my add-ons will work or got killed.

Instalé la Add On Bar, luego instalé el Forecastfox. No apareció en la barra. Lo forcé con Personalizar y apareció, pero al rato volvió a desaparecer. Repetí esto varias veces con el mismo resultado.

I installed the Addon Bar and the Forcastfox Weather extension in Firefox 29 and it works perfectly.

The latest versions (> 2.2.2, for FF>27) are not available from mozilla any more. Instead a new version can be downloaded from the AccuWeather website. But it is much more instrusive than before. This looks like the typical "I give it for free and let you pay later, once you got used to it" attempt to a user's freedom of choice. The new version is not a widget, but a complete bar, from which search function and other unwanted features cannot be disabled separately. Take one - take all. Too many modal windows for configuration overlay even my other browser tabs.
I understand that everybody needs to earn his life and make money after all. But this attempt to break into the users' favourite browser is unacceptable in my mind, similar to the long criticised all-IE and all-MS attempt of MS, which was finally judged to be illegal. Difficult to say that a free app abuses its monopoly status, but it is something like that.
A clear no-go for me, if it will not be improved to be more customisable (i.e. I can decide which parts of the widgets I see).

Edit: Crashed FF when trying to customise other toolbars. It does not fit the add-on customising schema of Mozilla any more, which explains, why it is not validated. Does not allow to switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius. Uninstalled. What a pity. It used to be the first add-on I installed on every new environment. Were the 2.x versions open source and can we adapt them to FF29?

The best Add-On of weatherforecast should be updated soon. So it would work stable on FF 28 and up. Please update. Last Update was in 2012. Please update soon!

It's okay... and the latest version from their site works on Firefox 30. However, it just takes up too much space. It'd be nice if the icons were smaller and overall took up less space

This add-on is a crucial add, providing several days of forecasted weather from Accuweather, which I find to be very reliable. I love the feature of radar so I can monitor when clouds are hovering over my areas of interest. Please update to make it be compatible with Firefox 29!!!

I always loved this short app. However since the Firefox 29.0 update it isn´t any longer working. So please bring it back, do not live it die!

I hope that a way can be found to make Forecast Fox compatible with Firefox 29+, I really miss it.

I've used it for several years going back maybe a dozen releases and its always worked just fine.

DOES NOT WORK WITH THE ALL_NEW FIREFOX 29.0

However -

It's the Most awesome weather add-on you can get. HIGHLY configurable, and your local (and?OR) temp is displayed in your bar, along with, if you want, an icon that pops up the local radar instantly, to see problem areas coming, OR NOT! Has a warning Icon in the bar as well, of course if you so wish it to be displayed, that warns you of bad weather coming. Again, please update this add-on to work with the all-new Firefox 29

Gratefully yours,

Danny

This garbage never works, because it is always incompatible with the latest version of Firefox.

Too bad ForecastFox doesn't get it's reports from weather.com instead of AccuWeather. AccuWeather even when I used it as a desktop widget did not accurately give me the temperature for my area. And it hasn't changed a bit. Right now it says it's 63. Actually it's 69 weather.com reports and the high according to them will be 86. Accuweather says the high will be 82. That's quite a difference there. I'll pass on this one.

The new one 2.2.4 is not customizable.

For me, this is the best, most comprehensive weather add-on available for Firefox. So glad it made it FF 29 and beyond.
