I had the same Probs with image zoom.
but viewing the about:config was the sollution:
however the extension seems to influence the value of "imagezoom.defaultGlobalZoom" usually it has to be 100 (percent) in my case the value was 90 and the imgs - except backgroundimgs - were zoomed by -10%
after changing the value everything everything 's fine and works as usually perfect :D
btw. you can 't change this value in the imagezoom-config - screen! use about:config search for "imagezoom.defaultGlobalZoom"

I've used this extension for quite some time. Since before ff1.07. Today I ended up disabling it altogether. ALL images that weren't background images were getting resized about by about 5%...
Quite annoying when you see images that you know are crystal clear getting jaggies and compression artifacts, not to mention, websites breaking apart and loosing the comformity. I don't know what changed the way this extension worked but it's something that should be resolved.

I've used imagezoom for years and it's steadfast and true. Regarding Google maps, I just tested google maps, zoomed all the way in and out and imagezoom played no role because of the setting in Options > Content > "Enable Javascript" (selected, checked) > "Advanced Javascript Settings" > Allow scripts to: "Disable or replace context menus" (selected, checked). This means when you are on a site like Yahoo mail or Google maps, you added functionality designed by the website.
I think most of the mapping sites slice the maps up into smaller squares (grid style, maybe 4x3), and if instead of Google maps context menu zoom you used imagezoom (you did not have the correct setting, above), you'd be zooming only one of the squares, which would have a bad result. I vaguely recall experiencing many versions ago.

Image Zoom is an excellent feature; Unfortunately, ever since the last time I used it, it causes each map tile on Google Maps to zoom 200%, rendering the map illegible. I cannot figure out how to make it work as before. When I disable or uninstall Image Zoom, the problem goes away, but when I re-enable it or re-install it, the problem returns.

Zoom is the only feature that I miss from IE7. Firefox should have had it built in from the beginning. This is great and so much better than IE7! Thanks so much!!

I frequent a website with comics on it. But the images are too small and I was gettin' squinty reading the speech balloons.
Image Zoom has saved my eyes! and therefore My Internet Life. Instantaneously understandable, works exactly as described. Thank you Image Zoom!

I would have never thought I needed this extension but now I find it invaluable. It works seamlessly like it came with default firefox. Simple to use as well as simply genus.

I can't thank the author enough for this.
It's stable and I have no issues with it on FF 1.5.0.11 and FF 2.0.
If your eyes aren't what they used to be, you need to get this.
It makes browsing *so* much better. I use it every time I browse.
Thank you Jason!

I have used this in FF 1.5 series, and FF 2.0.0.3\r\n-It has always been Stable and i have never had any problems with it\r\n-I love that it has several image size options for zoom. The favorite being \"image fit\" option.\r\nI have not tried other zoom extensions in FF to give you any comparisons, but this does the job very well. I use it a lot. a must have

This is especially helpful for seeing what type of dimensions a small thumbnail will be once you get the full size version. Also helpful to size down some annoyingly large forum images / signatures.
One thing would make this extension superb, when zooming, it zooms in based on your mouse (Like Adobe Acrobat), rather than zooming in based on the Top Left Corner of the screen.
