I love Thunderbird, and I use Google mail sometimes, and I've now discovered this syncing tool -- it's great, I'm very pleased with it. Congrats!

This addon was easy to set up and so far it's working flawlessly. Well done!

The exact same thing that happened to Ssurgul, happened to me. Uninstalling the plugin fixed the issue. I was able to sync my contacts with my gmail account.

kyle, this is a Lightning bug, fixed in Thunderbird 3.0.1, see:

Don't know why, but this add-on specifically managed to remove the text for 'File', 'Edit', 'View' and some of the items in those menus themselves in TB 3.0. Removing it cleared up the problem. Also, it doesn't seem to support having multiple address books and keeping them separated by email address; it just wants to merge them all into one big happy address book. When handling personal and business emails through one interface, this is not a benefit.

Ssurgul, if you want to sync multiple accounts, you can choose to either:
a) sync them all together by syncing each one with personal address book or
b) keep them separate by syncing each one with an addressbook named after the account email address

The File/Edit issue is a Lightning bug, fixed in Thunderbird 3.0.1, see:

Seems to work okay for the most part, but it's a real pain for me that Zindus chooses to synchronise Google's "Contact Groups" with TB's "Address Books" (instead of TB's "Mailing Groups" as would be more intuitive in my opinion.

I know this is a documented 'feature', and that there are technical reasons why it works like this. But for me, this is just one more reason on the list for going back to using Webmail.

Works good to sync my Thunderbird contacts with my iPod. Great work, thank you very much.
Hopefully you manage it to improve your Add-on even more (I especially hope you manage to improve the whole adress part of the synchronisation).

Works very well with my gmail account, but there should be an option on whether it remember password or not. TB has this option, but it ignores that setting.

Works very well with my gmail account, but following fixes needed:

1. There should be an option on whether it remember password or not. TB has this option, but it ignores that setting.

2. Birthday synchronization not happening.

I hope, on the next version, these will be fixed.
