Bogobogo: Thank you for the link, but it does not work for me. TB 45.1.1

Edit: After disabling Remove duplicate (which does not work with TB45.1.1 too) and after 3rd or 4th restart it WORKS!!! Thank you, man!

I just installed the modified version again – and it works! TB 45.1.1
The xpi-file is in the zip-file, you have to unpack it and then install it inside Thunderbird....

Unfortunately the addon does not work anymore with TB 45. It is really a useful extension and it is really hard now to get used to non colored folder icons again.

EDIT: With 45.1.1 it still does not work.

Went to change existing color on a folder and the extension is greyed out on each different view of my folders.

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

While the add-on itself moved with the profile being relocated, all of the folders which had been colored via the add-on were now seen with the default color. Bummer.

Doesn't allow one to colour IMAP In or Sent folders, which makes it pretty useless for me. May be of use to others, though.

Thanks for a very simple and effective organizing add-on.

Works Fine on TB 38.5.0 (Portable Edition) on Win 8.1

@Destry: You cannot change the color of a folder with a special icon (i.e. a special folder like Inbox, Drafts, etc). In this case, Color Folders is greyed-out; In normal (custom) user folders it works fine.

Will this be made to work with TB 38.4 (latest)?
Right click a folder and Color Folders is greyed out in the drop-down menu.
Thanks

When I right click on a saved search folder it shows colored folders with a lens icon inside, so it's detecting the folder correctly, but when I click on a color nothing happens :(

I'm on TB 38.4 on Linux Mint.

This works great for me! A simple command at the bottom of the context menu when I right-click on a folder, and then just select the color I want. Colors last through restarts, and it 's easy to find my most important folders out of the 27 I use. Thanks! I am using TB 38.2.0.

As it was asked in this extension's description, I post couple of errors that prevent it from working in my case (latest, fully updated release version of Thunderbird):

(I am giving it five star because it should work fine once fixed)

I refused to give up on this extension so I disabled all of my extensions and re-enabled them one by one.

I found out which extension makes color folders stop working.

The extension that causes color folders to not work is [excuse me, this PC is taken. I'm writing a review online... go find your own PC, bud, k? ... holy sh!@$#!! is that a gun??!?! Wait! I won't sa... argh!!!!!!!! blech. splat. thud. ...... ...... .... .. . . . .

Previous review:

I hate to give it one star, as I don't actually know how well it works.

It's in the context menu for folders, but clicking it doesn't change a thing.

Maybe it's a test of the human species -- to see how many times humans will click on something that doesn't give a reward, before giving up?

I'm running TB v 38.2.0 and leaving now to get some M&Ms...

I was using it for many years now, but unfortunately it does not work with TB 38.0.1
Please update!

It appears in the folder menus, but is faded and inoperative. Strangely, it is available for folders I have created, but not for default Thunderbird folders.

In T'Bird v31.5.0, this addon conflicts with theme TT DeepDark v10.0.1.

Sometimes down the left hand pane, clicking on a inbox/folder whatever and the title goes dark. Clicking somewhere else rectifies the problem.

Great idea but doesn't work with TB 31.4. Clearly needs updating...

It seems useful because I use many folders to organize my email. The add-on is installed and is available in the rigth-click menu. But selecting a color gives me no result.... By the way, I am using Windows 7.
