This would have to be the best add on ever, I can't believe I've only just found it, and I also can't believe they have a New Zealand ISP!! Well chuffed.

Apparently not configured to work for any US ISP's as I don't see any listed on the set-up options menu and doesn't appear to work with AT&T. If that is the case it should be mentioned in the "long description" to save from wasting time downloading and installing
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.0.23).If your ISP isn't after "The currently compatible ISPs are :", it's isn't compatible. ;-)
However, you can go to http://extensions.geckozone.org/Minimeter-en#askmodules to see how to ask for a new module.

Good idea but doesn't cover the UK

This sounds like a perfect idea. I've already received 2 phone calls from my ISP letting me know that I've either exceeded or am coming close to exceeding my Bandwidth. I wish that this supported (US) ISP's popular over here: COMCAST, and TimeWarner. Both of these have recently publicly (legal issues) promised to maintain bandwidth quotas.
;)
J.
About Comcast, I replied to you by email, but just to let other users know, Comcast will soon implement a viewable online usage meter starting January 5.
So, as soon as any user sends me the infos (see http://extensions.geckozone.org/Minimeter-en#askmodules), I'll add the module.

.....add Telus (Canada)! I'd love this, as we're always charged extra overages for usage every month! Excellent idea! :-)

Loved it, used it. But since yesterday I get a message that the certificate has expired october 2nd
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.9.8).I contacted Telenet and will correct the module if they do not renew the certificate.
In the mean time, you can go to https://telemeter4tools.services.telenet.be/TelemeterService and add a permanent exception for the certificate (if you're using Firefox 3).

This is a really good idea and I would love to use it! Alas I live in Scotland and my ISP (Tiscali) was not available for selection. Hopefully this add-on stays in development and gets all the support it needs to be optimized for world-wide use.
