Useful, prevents me from checking new updates "at hand".

Very helpful, makes you get rid of manial checking. I still use it though I heard the function was implemented now natively in Firefox.

Finally, the option to apply updates immediately and with no confirmation buttons. It can even be set to auto restart firefox (no reason not to, with session saving you do not lose any open data, I am not at all bothered when firefox just restarts on me. In fact, I like it)

i have no strong reason to choose it rather than the original update notifier from Firefox itself?

I've been using this addon since I found it here (and it's been for ages). Meantime, I believe there is a bug when installing it on pt_PT version of Firefox, it doesn't show the subtitles
Anyway it's a great addon.

It does not shows the sliding notification near system tray when add-on updates are available. This is after installing Firefox v3.6.2.

If you use firefox, firstly install this addon to get final addons. It is very very important. Thanks

One of my favorites. I also like to install this when I install FireFox for less technical users since it helps them keep their extensions up to date.

@CrispyRoll: You can prevent individual extensions from updating in pref.js. Type about:config in the address bar. You'll need to create a new boolean value in the form of extensions.{GUID}.update.enabled.
I use extensions.{582195F5-92E7-40a0-A127-DB71295901D7}.update.enabled to keep GMail Manager from updating.
@atomizer I've been unable to get extensions to update automatically & silently using any combination of tools > options > advanced > update & prefs.js. How do you do it?

I like the addon but since I do not want to use personas 1.5 I need something like a blacklist for addons which I do not want to get updated. I use the old version of personas so I can not automatically update and always got notified, that there is an update available.

seems pointless to me as FF already has this functionality built in (tools > options > advanced > update). finer grained control available through prefs.js (app.update.[string])
