Really love this feature, this is one of the things that gives google chrome its crowning glory. All mozilla need to do is make firefox work faster and have seperate processes for each tab - and drag and drop tabs from window to window then maybe they could have google beat at last lmfao

youve now given me no reason to use opera:) the one thing I wish I could add is the option for an embedded google (or other) search bar, much like at the top of opera's speed dial so i could just alt+home and type my search without having to touch my mouse.
other than that, this is perfect!

One of the best add-ons that I have. Ever since Google moved the tabs to the left-side, I use Speed-Dial almost exclusively. Even tho I found a way to get the tabs back in iGoogle, I have sorta duplicated my menus with tabs in Speed Dial. Super good and super fast.

Nice, but:
Can't set "Most Visited" pages, no "disappearing" extra (blank) boxes.

Good application, does what it should. But loses that fifth star for grabbing hold of the cursor when it updates a thumbnail. Frequent refreshes are not feasible, but otherwise, it does a great job.

Issue: when opening new tab by double-clicking on tab pane, an empty tab opens without Speed dial. If use Ctrl+T or New Tab buttton - everything is OK. Sorry for posting bug here, but I was unable to register on Mozillazine forum with my e-mail "kov-b(*)yandex.ru".

It would be really cool if we could have different button layouts under each group, like Group-1 could have 2x4 -> 8 buttons, Group-2 could have 3x3 -> 9 buttons etc., configurable by the user.
Great add-on; far better than the other competitors out there. Good job!

Speed Dial version 0.7.2.5 seriously interferes with the setting of Roboform Passcards in Firefox 3.0.3.
Since writing this review the developer has offered me the next version of Speed Dial namely version 0.7.2.6 for me to test to see if this still causes any issues with Roboform. For the technical users out there I understand that Josep has used "iframe" object instead of "browser" to render the thumbnails in this development version. I can report that this has nearly, but not completely eliminated the problems with Roboform refreshing itself and displaying wrong passcards. When initially loading the computer / Firefox the wrong passcard is presented but this can be overcome by adding what you originally had as the home page to Speed Dial and then including Speed Dial as the home page. Then loading the first page from there seems to clear any issues in this respect.
Before testing 0.7.2.6 I was definitely going to uninstall version 0.7.2.5 and find an alternative but now I have kept version 0.7.2.6 and will continue to evaluate it. I find the program very helpful to me and very well written.
I think there could be more direct help links and tutorials from the Speed Dial program itself without having to find the homepage link and looking for the manual. At times I find the manual lacking in sufficient detail and layman’s language when I do not understand what to do. I think a whole lot more information could be added to “Tips & Tricks”.
One piece of advice that Josep offered me with regard to “refresh stealing focus” was to tick the box “disable JavaScript in the background browser” (Advanced/ Other).
Because I am not technically minded I do not understand the implications of this. It does not disable Javascript in the Firefox browser from the tests that I carried out but so far it has certainly seemed to help the “focus” problem. I will have to wait and see.
I find the flexibility of adding thumbnail pictures very good but a bit hit and miss and difficult to understand at times. Getting the crop / size combination right can be tricky. In the end I was able to produce meaningful thumbnail pictures that are a pleasure to use but I am still at a loss to understanding the thumbnail picture pixel sizing and its effect.
I have only been using this program for a day or so and have still to get to grips with all that it has to offer. With its numerous features and lack of detailed help it is going to take me some time yet.
In view of what this new development version has to offer I am changing my original 1 star rating to 4 stars. I hope you find this review of more help than the previous one. The developer Josep is certainly very helpful and responsive to any issues that have been raised.
When this new version is released I would certainly recommend that you give it a try.
Good luck.

I started FF last night. All the pages opened up with session manager but I started getting an error "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." The longer it set there the more errors occurred. I could not keep up with them. I booted in safe mode and it worked. I then started adding extensions back and Speed Dial was causing the problem. I added all extensions back except for SD and it worked fine. When SD was added the errors started up. After a couple more restarts suddenly it started working. I don't know what was going on, but SD was the cause. Any real docs on this extension are useless, they could be improved. I kept looking for where the data was stored thinking I could delete a site or something. Please note, the error were so frequent, I had no chance in FF to do anything. I have had no problems with this extension until now, but it caused a lot of headaches last night. As I said the documentation is severely lacking and there is very little support for SD. I will still use this extension though.

If you have the speeddial check every minute, and you are writing an email in a webmail form, speeddial will steal the window of focus, such that you will find that you didn't type anything for the last fifteen seconds.
Otherwise it is nice. Still, I uninstalled it.

Speeddial works good but there is one bad thing - When you open new tab (with speeddial page) firefox stop working (e.g. suggest url in adress bar doesn't work) until images and icons of pages load in.
Is it possible to keep all this information in RAM?
Then this all will be working fine.
(Sorry for my english - I'm still learning).

This is a VERY BAD IDEA. It reloads websites at a fixed period of time, say every 60 seconds. If more and more people use this, it creates a huge bandwidth drain for the website, and bandwith = money.
Refresh option can be turned OFF, or set at an interval of your choosing (seconds, minutes, hours, days).

This is one of the best so far. It updates thumbs pretty quickly, but only if no other download / upload is operating in the background. I use it to keep track of several e-mail addresses, by having them each refresh dynamically. Warning do not use alot of dynamic refreshing if you only have a single processor cpu. **a few weeks ago I was using a P4-2.8, and had 4 Speeddial tabs, each with 9 links (36). It took forever to refresh all 36 links. I'm now using an AMD Phenom 2.6 (woo hoo!!) and have 9 pages of 9 links (81) and have not found any major problems of refreshing other than background network activity. I'd still highly recommend this Addon...
