I find this add-on extremely useful to help me keep track of things that need upto date information on each refreshes, like stock market sites, and several e-mail accounts.
**note** do not load more than 5 pages of 9 (45 sites) with each site reloading at different intervals. I found on my setup, there was alot of background activity that caused my caret to loose focusing while doing mundane things such as webmail. Other than that, this add-on is amazing. I even have it keeping track of grocery shopping flyers !!! :D

Great add-on but, it doesn't get along with Roboform. Roboform blinked off and on until I disabled Speed Dial. Otherwise very useful!

I like it, it's nice, but it would be great to tie this in to the Smart Bookmarks as well. If I could set some of these to my most viewed sites and others to less used but no less important sites it would be perfect.

Used to use Fast Dial, but it turned into such a headache with recent updates. Switched to Speed Dial and so much happier now!

Used to be a fast dialer but when the stupid bookmarking thing came went to speed dial.
Improvements wanted:
would be nice to have more then 10 and it would be nice to have more control on each individual tile (open in new tab 1 only etc)

This add-on is awesome.
I was long time FD user and switched to SD after they changed to 2.x version. I like SD better. It is just perfect.
I would like to request some new features:
1. Option to set Background image
2. Transparent thumbnails
3. Make unassigned/ not used dials transparent/ option to hide unused thumbnails
4. Option to select number of dials (Not just columns & rows). e.g. If I need just 10 dials with 4 x 3 configuration, I get 12 dials and I don't want last 2 dials.
5. Option to select/unselect border for dials.

It's like google chrome, just perfect. It's perfect for a homepage.

long time FD user, too many bugs so i finally dumped it and switched over to SD. so far so good.
request #1: a way to set a default background for empty cells, possibly on a per-group basis. i use dark themes and the default white background is WAY too bright.
request #2: a way to move cells between groups, drag and drop would be ideal.
(is there a proper place to make feature requests?)
Feel free to make suggestions directly to the author by email.
To set a dark background, right click on the group. In the contextual menu, choose "Edit group", and then you can choose the background and text colors.
Drag & drop is supported, but you've to drag from the border, not the image. The reason is to avoid false clicks. Then, drag the mouse over the group you want to move the dial to, and it will be selected, so you can then drop the dial on the right location.

Thankfully the drag n drop issue has been fixed and this once again my favorite add-on!

SD and Fast dial now are incompatible. The bookmark dialog doesnt come up and on customizing the toolbar, File,View menu are disabled. All this happened recently. On disabling SD, i found that the issue is fixed.

My thumbnails are appearing as blanks, even though I have installed the latest version.

I like this little handy SD. Before I moved to FF, I've been using Opera and I loved its feature. This SD helps me move to FF without a hassle.
The downside comes to this new version. When I move around my thumbnails, it gives "TypeError: SpeedDialUtils.Thumbnail is not a function" warning message. First of all, this is kinda annoying that I can't drag-and-drop my speed dials. Second, the nature of warning message is the program should still work but with something going wrong (otherwise should be an error message).
Overall is good, but I hope this bug will be fixed soon.

Speed Dial is one of my most used firefox add-ons. But in the last week the bookmark edit dialogue didn't work anymore.
After deactivation all add-ons and activating them one by one I found out the reason why: I have had installed SD and FD together.
So since the last update of FD it seems to be incompatible with SD. Now I only use Speed Dial.

The simple user interface is excellent. I will use it for a long time.
But I have one request. I can export the settings but cannot import that in another PC's firefox3. I tried in both 0.7.2.4 and 0.7.2.2, they cannot import the exported file.
I put many Japanese pages. I think that's why it cannot import the file...
