It may be a "minor enhancement," but for me and Thunderbird, it's just right. Too many times, I've had to wait to enter the master password again (then again) as TB loaded. Now, the request comes up before TB loads (just like SeaMonkey). Type it, click Enter, and move on. Just as it should have been all along.

Great. Exactly what Thunderbird *should* do!

I guess that the Thunderbird developpers only have one account so they never noticed the problem. The worst is that when one just cancel some of the popups instead of typing the master password again and again, one lose the password for these accounts !!!

Thanks.

Works good except will continue to ask for password unless you remove your master password, but comes back when you add it again. maybe b/c other addons?

This month (March 2011), I started to get a master password login prompt for each account in Thunderbird.
But no more. Installing the latest version of the extension in Thunderbird solved my problem.
Btw. I had this extension installed in Firefox for a long time, and it has been working flawlessly (if that's a word..).

Everything works fine apart from it asks for the master password twice at startup, rather than once. It's been doing that for about a month now. Would be great if the developer could fix this!

I can type my password right once, and it acts like it's wrong and still makes me redo it five times.

Essential! This is exactly what I've been looking for.
Caused by GoogleCal- and Zindus-Sync, I've always had at least THREE password boxes at each Thunderbird startup, which has been driving me insane for months.
Now with the StartupMaster extension, my peace of mind has returned.
There's only ONE dialog box requesting my master pwd, and it can even be configured to quit the app when cancelling this dialog.
This feature should really be integrated into the Thunderbird & Firefox source code.
Thank you for creating a real timesaver!

Sweet! Firefox should offer this as part of its code.

Works perfectly! Having 40-50 tabs restored on startup and having 5-10 master password windows poping up over previous popup with half-entered password is major annoyance. This addon do what had to be done in the first place by Firefox team.
If I'm not mistaken in FF4 the bug is fixed already and this addon is not needed.

Stopped working with Firefox 4.0 beta 4.
Other than that, it's an excellent addon. Just what I needed.

Very nice, so far but...please make a change so that it does its stuff when you switch from secure private browsing back to normal mode. Currently FF asks for the password as many times as it is is needed for the pages you have open, can result in multiple pop-ups of the security password dialog box, a right pain!

I don't know if it's possible, but it would be great to have an option to enter master password from command line parameter.
