Great extension, but it should come with a more complete list of user-agents built in (along with all the other variables) so that by default there is a longer list of web browsers and bots and mobile devices you can have Firefox impersonate, and also having different versions of each browser (including Firefox). Everything else about this extension is perfect, the only flaw is the rather short default list of user-agents. And it works perfectly in Firefox 8.0.

This plugin needs a feature where it starts with Firefox using the last used useragent. I hate how I constantly needs to switch it.

This addon changes the user agent globally (for every site). If you want to just change the user agent on a site-by-site basis, install the UA Control addon: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/uacontrol/

Didn't add a user agent switcher, added a persistent and useless tool bar. Uninstalled.

Works fine on 9.0a1 still, either enable the menu bar or tap alt to show it, and then the app is accessed through the tools menu just as it always was.

Didn't even show a button on FF5. No way to activate it. A shortcut would be nice.

This add-on is a "must have." I don't know what I can do without this thing. Finally, I can visit mobile sites :D

Works great, you have to add the icon to the toolbar to make it visible.

COOL add-on!!! I downloaded firefox just bcoz of this add-on. You can create any user agents for most of the mobiles.. N mine has a user agent of iPhone too. =)

Very useful indeed. Would be helpful if it had more mobile browser user agent strings built in (e.g. iPhone, Android, etc.), as that is what a lot of people will want to use it for. Button appearance is also out of step with those used since FF4, but not a big problem.

Very useful extension.
Would be nice if the toolbar icon would be more inline with firefoxes new button style though.

In my FF5 browser this addon didn't work when i swiched to IE8 user agent. I couldn't access any Microsoft webssite. I tried with "Windows update", "Livemail" & "Microsoft answers".None worked so i uninstalled and then i installed "IE Tab+" which works fine and have had no problems accessing M-soft websites. Save yourself sometime and do the same!

I'm trying to get google plus to work in seamonkey. I read that you should use this to make your seamonkey look like ie8. Doing this made google look really ugly, there was no way to get out of HTML mode. Also, the entire menu under "SeaMonkey" disappeared, and google plus still wouldn't let me in. I then tried "iphone 3" and google plus let me in but there were other GUI issues so I just deleted the plugin.

Here is a complete list of user agents (it has browser like Chrome, Safari, and Opera): http://techpatterns.com/downloads/download_item.php?folder=firefox&filename=useragentswitcher.xml

This addon obstructs proper display of bookmarks toolbar. At least, with "User Agent Switcher" enabled only half the bookmarks on my toolbar are displayed. When disabled, my toolbar returns to normal. Will keep disabled until really needed or perhaps switch to other addon for functionality needed. (firefox 3.6.17)

To all those having problems finding the options in FF4: To see the User Agent Switcher options again, you just have to turn on the Menu Bar, which is turned off by default in Firefox 4.

Firefox Button In Top Left --> Options --> Menu Bar
