Very useful. A must have. So far it's worked perfectly with FF 4 RC.

I've been using Copy Plain Text version 0.3.5 with the latest Firefox 3.6.10 (currently 3.6.13) for a while now, and haven't noticed any problems.
I couldn't remember where I got it so searched in Google & found a few links; this one works:
http://rapidshare.com/files/412743995/copyplaintext-0.3.5.xpi
I compared ("diff") the contents of each file contained in the .xpi from that link with those in the .xpi I had installed and they were all identical, so it should be safe. It's a useful little extension.

This was an awesome addon. No longer supported. For those of you looking for this functionality, I recommend you use "Extended Copy Menu". Has this feature and more.

This extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/134/), as well as the update at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/14006/ does not work on my copy of FF 3.6.11. (From the comments I've seen, I'm not alone.)
HOWEVER, there is a revised version (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/129688/) that seems to work OK for me (on two of my machines, so far). The author seems to have had some trouble with the extension title and that almost made me skip it. It appears to work fine, though.
I wonder what happened to Jeremy?

This basic, essential plugin no longer works on the latest Firefox versions. It is clearly no longer maintained. The developer's site no longer exists. Can someone please update this thing? Why isn't this built-in functionality yet?

I've loved this extension since it was originally been released. Any suggestion as to which version works well with the latest 3.6.10 and/or 4.0 betas? Any of them work well with the AutoCopy extension?

...please upload it here as an alternative version, Copy Plain Text+ or something! (Read reviews below for the current download links)

Loved this add-on for many years but it's not working at all on FF 3.6.9 -- Same issues Kev Gillan mentions in his review: no listing of "copy plain text" in drop-down menu and when I try to change options, the Add-ons box freezes.

Thank you very much d_vietnam. Your version 0.3.5 of Copy Plain Text works perfect. You saved me a lot of time. Thank you very much again :).
I recommend everybody to whom Copy Plain Text is/was a must have extension to try the Copy Plain Text v0.3.5. It works perfect on Firefox 3.6.8, w7 x64 ;)

Installed into Ff 3.6.6 on XP but doesn't seem to work. No extra copy options present and pressing the 'Options' button in the Add-ons screen just makes ff freeze.

I have the same problem as described in Drgnfli's 08/12/10 post, with Firefox 3.6.8 on Windows 7.

I'm on a mac.. Installed it for FireFox 3.6.8 but it doesn't appear to be working. I can see it installed in the Add-ons listing. But when I try to copy, it doesn't do anything.. I may be missing something, but I couldn't find any documentation.

Same as Kontiky above... freezes up Firefox when you click on "Options." I have Firefox Version 3.6.8. Also it is not listed on the "Tools" tab like the rest of the add-ons are... ? What's up with that? Need some more debugging? I uninstalled it!

Installed it and could not find it anywhere. When I tried to have a look in the add-ons options it just froze.

Attempts to open Options to this add-on brings to FireFox hang-up.

While the Extended Copy Menu can do the same thing (except it won't trim leading and trailing spaces), the reason to use this is that it works with AutoCopy. I do massive amounts of copying text into form fields, and the AutoCopy/CopyPlainText combo is a lifesaver.

Awesome Add-on-works great. I just changed default copy action to plain text and no more copying to notepad!!!

Why mess around? Extended Copy Menu works right out of the box.

The add on Extended Copy Menu did the job for me.
I've loved Copy Plain Text and used it a billion times, but I could not get it to work with with FF 3.6, even using the arcane tips about editing and adding files to a deeply buried folder.
I've got Win7 64 and finally, finally found relief with Extended Copy Menu.
The 5 stars are for Extended Copy Menu.
