Great tool! Unfortunately no pdf-export possible since TB 60.3.

I'd deleted my tesco mailboxes (as Tesco no longer provide email or web services), foolishly deleting the associated archives. This tool worked perfectly for me and recovered them from my profile folder.
ps was running version 59. Just updated to 60.3, add-on still visible and not showing incompatibility

Other folks speak highly of this useful app - but on my PC running TBv60.2.1 it won't load even. I get an error message from Mozilla - "...not compatible with 60.2.1..."

Summary
--------------
Pretty solid plugin, does the job, could have more polish (weird warning message grammar) and improved in a number of ways.

Detail
--------
I have tested to being used to back up and restore an Outlook exchange mailbox. A few things missing and non-intuitive and the English grammar of the messages is ambiguous (translated from Italian loses the warning messages' precision, it seems).

The biggest annoying thing about it is that when restoring from mbox files, even if you have exported the directory structure, the process flattens the structure, so all directories are in the root. The only way I found to prevent this was to not scan sub-directories when importing, and manually importing each directory which has sub-directories. This would be the biggest thing to fix (or make it obvious how to do this, if it is possible already).

The other thing is the export process. A warning is given for an IMAP mailbox:
"You're exporting the local copy of a IMAP or NEWS folder.
The local folder could not have all the messages present in remote folder.
Do you want to continue?"
.... so, does this mean that the export "does not" have all the messages or "might not" have all the messages?

If the plugin could advise on the process on ensuring that messages are included (sync and storage settings, perhaps?) or do this automatically for the user, that would be great.

Even just changing the wording in the warning and adding an explanation to the message would be useful!

However, the software seems pretty solid.

Trying to import from mbox, immediately throws an error (before I have selected anything)

Mbox file import just creates an empty folder without any messages in it.

Tried exporting entire locally cached mailbox to which I lost access, doesn't work. Tried importing hierarchy representing a mail account. Apparently that's not possible: you have to create every folder manually and import separately. Tried importing a single email into an Exchange mailbox, no go, and no error message either.

Seriously useful tool! I have a client whose super-tedious solicitor wants all conversations grouped together as one giant chronologically-sorted document?!

Because the useful email is interspersed amongst other personal mail and spans Inbox and Sent, a virtual folder (saved search) did the necessary filtration...

The add-on did produce a series of PDFs (including attachments) of this virtual folder, which was great, but it did not produce any output when rendering as plain text (individual or grouped)

There is a bug I could not immediately identify with an array (that stores the messages?). I include the error message, any help with this would be very much appreciated!

saved me from printing in pdf of 200+ emails, essential for the book keeping...

one wish: if it could print the emails in a single pdf or email.... that would be superplus....

Misses most embedded images and many attachments. This forced me to do a manual scan thru each mbox and save them explicitly.

The program cannot even copy straightforward text-format messages from the MBOX to individual files (exporting as plain text) reliably. Numerous newline characters were stripped. It is easier for me to work with the MBOX files in a text editor when I want to do things in bulk.

In sum, it is faster to work without this add-on than with it.

Pro! I am importing my emails very fast and very grateful to have this tool.
Con!
The ONLY option to import that is working - Import messages. That has me manually importing the .emlx folders 1 by 1. I'm over 30hours into this process. each Apple folder is no more that 1000 emails. Again, I'll take the help and be happy. Not sure why NONE of the choices to import the mbox or even the the choice to import the directory and subfolders do not work. It's likely my email that Apple was unable to help with and ultimately told me TBird is better for heavy mail users.
would be 5* if the import directory worked.
Thanks!

The native Save As dialog was crashing. This extension worked perfectly out of the box and saved the day.

I can only quote Anonymer Nutzer 88e28d from Feb. 11 2018 just updating my versions of Firefox and Thunderbird: "How did you people manage to review this add-on? I can't even get it to install. I am trying to install on a Windows 10 PC with Firefox 59.0.2 and Thunderbird 52.7.0 - should be the latest version of both. All I get is: This add-on could not be installed because it has not been verified"

My archives folder was about 32.2Mb with 27 files and 2 sub folders but the exporter (export folder and sub-folder option ) only picks half of the contents ( although it amounts to almost the same size of 32.0Mb).
This makes it feel unreliable even if half of those files were useless, they exist nonetheless.

Using the export to zip function is a bit wonky as it asks for a folder instead of asking about the file name of your zip and it's location (like any basic "save as ..." function). But the worst part is that the resulting zip file is 0kb in size and only contains a reference to my Archive folder which makes it half useless.

Ideally, i'd like to be able to backup all the contents of a folder at once. Even better if it all gets zipped.

I'm sure this extension is useful in other ways but for me, the basic export/import functionality isn't working properly which is a disappointment seeing as it's supposedly a major v3 release. : s Who knows what else doesn't work properly or makes you feel it does but then crashes silently.

I'd like to warn everyone using this to be extra careful.

I have found this very useful for developing templates on one computer and exporting them to another. I'll be sorry if it is forced to obsolescence in the future.
