A great addon that does what you need.Be aware though, that firefox does not require this addon to ask for your master password before exporting (tested on firefox 3.6 but this behavior does not happen on 4.0b9pre (it asks for the master password) So be sure to update.)

It is very comfortable and functional add-on. It's a pity that it was not working correctly with Cyrillic characters in username and password.

By Firefox3.6.11, it is possible to DL, and it works fine at Thunderbird/3.1.6 on Mac OS X 10.6.4.
I deeply appreciated for your add-on.

fiefox 3.6.11 wont let me DL the files to addons. I have been using this add on for some time now so a bit dissapointed wont run with the new FF update. thinking of going back an update or 3 to get it to run.

I've just reinstalled my system from scratch after a major failure and I am happy to report this add-on works beautifully. Thank you for making my Internet experience a lot smoother!

It is easy to correct: unzip the file .xpi (maybe modify the extension from xpi to zip) , open the file install.rdf and change the line
3.1a1pre
to
3.1.2
zip the archive, change the extensio from zip to xpi and install it.

I am using two important features for Firefox. The first one is Bookmark backup as a json file. (This is standard in Firefox Bookmark management). The second one is this "Password Export". I can migrate all my passwords and bookmarks on to my computers running at work/home/mobile (i.e. laptop)..

Some passwords missing after importation.
I discovered this certainly very usefull extension yesterday and tested it directly by exporting in each format : 3 passwords were not imported in xml, 6 not in csv !
If someone has an idea, I'm curious ...
I would really like to use it.

Exported passwords (to xml file) from v.1.1 are incompatible with v.1.2.

Version 1.2 suffers from following bug:
It stores identical entries, even though it should not: So, after exporting and importing passwords following error message occurs for each identical record: "('This login already exists.' when calling method: [nsILoginManager::addLogin])".

Awesome addon! Keep up the good work.
I have recently moved from the "other" os to ubuntu and was missing all my old passwords. This extension gave me a clean option of merging saved passwords from the older profile.
1 tip: If due to some reason, it is possible to run firefox only from one profile (believe me, it can happen easily in "other" os), then follow these steps to merge passwords :
* export the currently saved passwords to xml.
* shutdown firefox
* (backup &) replace password related files (signons.sqlite & key3.db) from old profile to new profile
* restart FF -> now FF will show only passwords saved in old profile.
* import passwords from earlier export.
Voila!

XML parsing error when trying to import. make sure it works for you before your computer crashes and you didn't test it.

I'm using this for a long time now and love it. The only thing is that I have is that a compatibility-patch need to be downloaded....??? Really worth the effort. Fast and easy import and export of all your passwords.
