Well I've used this in... maybe 2 situations and it was OK. Functionalities are limited and I recommend an update! Developer?

Has a lot of nice settings, but is missing what I consider the most important option which is to change the default. Without that, its fairly useless.

I only use this on one or two sites...
As I'm sure is the case for EVERYBODY that uses it.
So it only makes sense that it should default to showing your standard Firefox string, unless you specifically change it for that site.
I shouldn't have to fiddle with menus every time I change a tab.

The add-on is great, don't get me wrong. I really love the extra user-agent list you can get and add in to it. It has almost every possible one out there. Why isn't it there by default? I have been using this for something like over two years now. It is time to see two critical features implemented in this product.
We need the ability to save a different default user agent. I end up using system default many time because this feature is missing. I will not accept a rebuttal to this, we want this and need this feature. We have spoken.
Also, why can we not specify on a per site basis? This would be another great feature. Some sites break with some user agents. Of course it depends on what you are using this for. But that's our prerogative.

Great extension that work outof the box on all FF versions (I'm on 26.0) . Also, very nice to see that the developer is working on an update and occasionally answers reviews..For a list of UA's check this one:
http://www.useragentstring.com/pages/useragentstring.php
It covers pretty much every Crawler, Browser, Library out there...

Compared to the other extensions in it's class it has a number of advantages:
*It actually does what it says it does.
*It has a large list of agents.
*It has an easy import function and a link to a (mostly) updated list of user agents. The list is flawed but nobody else has posted anything close to this.
*The UI flows well.
*It comes with an icon- and the icon isn't jumpy!
There is another bonus trick: Often times a casualty from the rabid-release carnage is extension developers put their minimum compatibility numbers too low. This especially hits users of browsers such as Palemoon because browsers like that don't have inflated version numbers. With a good UA switcher those users can come on and appear to have the latest Failfox and get the (100% compatible) extensions they want without the dumb version # hassle.
*EDIT* I went ahead and removed the earlier comment. Happy holidays!
I have not abandoned the extension, but I have found it hard to work on this extension recently with the other commitments in my life. However, I do have an update that is about 80% complete which has some improvements and bug fixes. I can't say when this will be released, but I'm hoping to get to it early in the new year.

Great addon!
Nice to have: Could you add a "favourite" option to save the user agent that I usually use?

This is a good user agent switcher! It will change the user agent to your selection and it also provides a direct link to download additional user agents. I've ran this against FF24, FF25 and FF25.0.1
For 24, the appName and User agent will be changed to your selected user agent type. For example selecting MSIE, the navigator appName will reflect "Microsoft Internet Explorer"
In 25 and 25.0.1, the user agent switches perfectly but the appName will remain as Netscape, no matter which user agent you select. I think 25 and 25.0.1 may have broken something that this plugin uses.
I will be submitting a bug report. Still a A+++ plugin!

Does a great job getting them to load as https rather than their default http, which is invaluable in many situations. Great when you want to hide your User Agent, from your internet provider allowing you to use your real UA instead of spoofing,(example: tethering using a a mobile phone service provider that looks for computer based browser User Agent strings, and will freeze your service if found, usually redirecting all DNS to a webpage telling you you've been caught tethering and you need to pay $10+ or upgrade your service, which I believe is bogus and should be against the law.) With HTTPS your traffic is encoded so your ISP never sees your user agent! No more faking a Nexus tablet!Great for providing that extra security when sending or receiving sensitive information. Preventing locally networked, or 3rd parties from sniffing network traffic and obtaining, or analyzing your activities. etc... It's all about Security!

Essential for my nefarious needs. Would like to set an agent as default instead of resetting every time FF is restarted.

i've been running linux nightly builds of ff for years and too many site 'developers' ("webmasters" lol) just don't get that 'everyone' are not running windows internet exploder, So 'spoofing' your useragent (UA) is is very helpful as a workaround to both these issues.
(*note, we used to be able to accomplish this in about:config > general.useragent* , but in Gecko 2x, FF higher than 18 (27.x) does not support UA overrides, that I have found... )
Thanks, Landis.

Disguise yourself to a web spider and stalk into the hidden areas! :)

Problem is, you can switch what you want. If you have javascript.enabled;true, then every website can detect your real OS and the FF-InstallTime20130910xxxxxx = v24.0

nice addonei would like yo be able to set per web site user agent, as some sites do not work on some user agents, while others open more more content to some user agents.

Simple and sweet. The best bart is tht you can import a list of user agents, actively maintained in forums.
A request (and it would become 5 star):
The user agent is reset upon restart. Please provide a setting to prevent this.

User agent switcher works well and is regularly updated.
A very large of user agents can be imported that goes above and beyond the installed list.Larger List of User Agents for import:

or directly at:

Please note 'User Agent Switcher' comes installed with a good list of user agent by default. However, if you want a ton more use the link above.
