Newsfox is an essential for anyone who uses Firefox, reads any major news website, blogs, smaller torrent trackers, or content-managed websites.

If you use Firefox and subscribe to RSS feeds through anything other than Newsfox you're just silly.

This is the rss reader that I've used since I first started using a reader. Every once in a while, I'll try another, but I always come back to NewsFox. The keyboard navigation is great (and customizable). You can set individual feeds to display as text or web page. I find it very intuitive and very useful.

It is set as my home page, and it is always open. Thanks to the developers!

1.0.5 or 1.0.6 ???

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.6).

It takes a while for editors to review addons at AMO. You can get 1.0.6 in the sandbox at AMO or at http://newsfox.mozdev.org/installation.html#next.

installation aborted with the notice "is not compatible with seamonkery 2.0"

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5).

Oh wait, I censored my real response. For people who need a little extra help, there is a SeaMonkey 2.0 version at http://newsfox.mozdev.org/installation.html#next.

I wish I could share feeds in it with other users or share feeds in GoogleReader, Facebook, etc.

I like this addin, but with my upgrade to Windows 7 and SeaMonkey 2.0, it no longer works. When can we expect a version that works with 2.0?

If you read the NewsFox feed, you'll know there already is one at http://newsfox.mozdev.org/installation.html#next.

This addon does *not* work offline. Saying it does is a lie.

You can only say the newsreader is truly offline if it is able to cache and display the feed in the exact manner in which it would be seen online, without being connected to the internet.

Trying to use this extension offline only displays text with huge gaps where the images are meant to be. Don't waste your time if you are seeking an offline reader.

Sorry, but you're the one lying.

Search for 'filtered web page' on newsfox.mozdev.org. If you weren't so snide, I wouldn't make you RTFM.

I love this extension. Had painfully tried a lot of RSS clients, this works perfect for me. Easy to use and moderately customizable.

Hard to use, hard to understand. I don't want to read the original website. Just not logical. I use Sage or Brief.. Better..

Your reviews speak for themselves. Have you ever like anything? (just a rhetorical question)

It's fairly easy to use, but beware, the minimum refresh interval is set at 10 minutes, and thus you cannot refresh more often than that. This is unfortunate since some feeds need to be refreshed more often and sources such as twitter support a much shorter interval than that. Considering Twitter's popularity and growth, I think the developer would do well to let the user make their own decisions for refresh interval instead of assuming that a more frequent interval is irresponsible.

It's not immediately apparent how to allow the viewing of links within a text feed without viewing the feed as a web page. However, you CAN view the feed as a web page and that makes it extremely convenient for feeds that often include multimedia content. It will happily load a twitter, youtube or blip page right inside the reader.

This is my first day, so I'll rate the reader highly as it seems well organized and so far is the only firefox rss add-on that almost did exactly what I needed. But making any http://blahblah text into a clickable link seems like an obvious option to have without forcing the user to view as a web page. No rss add-on I've tried does this.

The searchable folders are very nice. I'm currently trying to figure out how to organize groups of search folders. This is extremely useful for twitter users who might want to pick the names of people out of their main Home feed to avoid reading every tweet that comes by. And that home feed, for some people, needs to be updated every 5min or less. Twitter allows 150 feed updates per hour at the moment, so updating the Home feed every minute is well within acceptable limits.

I've tried many and this is the first RSS feedreader to satisfy both my needs and my preferences! Wonderful!

I especially enjoy the ability to click on an article and see just a text summary, then I can open the full article in another tab if I want to read it. That feature alone is a major time saver.

Very useful feedreader. Its integration with Firefox live bookmarks makes it very easy to use and manage.

Excellent add-on. The only reason I deleted it and installed Brief is you'll have to keep NewsFox opened in a tab to make it update RSS-feeds.
I'd love to keep it minimized.

Excellent feed reader. I have tried several stand-alone ones and several Firefox plug-ins, but this is the first one that works without eating all your resources during updates. It also has lots of useful features. Recommended!

The program itself isn't perfect, but progress seems to be made slowly but surely.Just a few quirks that you gets used to.

The interface is very nice, and it is why i use the addon for RSS.
