Hi guys, I have found solution for the SMS notification in google calendar - see this page http://www.cs.indiana.edu/Facilities/FAQ/Mail/calendar_email.html it works perfectly!

This add-on fulfills an import role for anyone who wants to be able to write to their Google Calendar from within Lightning.
Unfortunately, once you're done creating your calendars, and then de-select "check for new calendars", and you then add another Google Calendar you want to write to, there seems no way get the dialog back that upgrades the new calendar for write access.
Perhaps the add-on should not self-activate on Thunderbird load (it's annoying and unintuitive once you calendars are upgraded), but rather either activate when a new Google calendar is created, or when initiated by the user (via add-on Options or a right-click on a Calendar).

This works great. I have not had any problems and it is very easy to use.

I've not noticed any of the slow down some other have mentioned. Then again, I just started using Google calendar so I've not had any problems with it so far.
Great plug in, recommending it to all my co-workers who also use Thunderbird.

A number of people have had problems with Thunderbird slowing to a crawl with this add-on installed. I had the same problem. As a temporary fix, I put all my calendars in "read-only" mode for normal use. When I need to edit, I deselect the "read-only" and edit away. A bit cumbersome, but it works for now until this add-on can mature a bit.

seems to work great when syncing calendars, however, it also appears to slow down thunderbird and when typing an email or just maneuvering around, it seems to cause thunderbird to stall for a few seconds.

Great extension!!
I would like to have the option to set the notifications by sms instead of popup, too.

i like the ability to sync between lightning and google calendars. however, it slows thunderbird down and causes it to stop responding every 30 seconds for a few seconds which is very annoying.

great new update!! especially like the ability to add labels!
Found a bug though, when creating an event from an email to a google calendar I keep getting a cannot update error and when I go to my google calendar in lightening it is locked, I unlock it and try to add the event again and again my google calendar gets locked.

I'm really disappointed that (in Ubuntu) Provider 0.5 does not work with Lightning 0.8 and enforces Lightning 0.9 which makes problems in Ubuntu. The addon should be backwards-compatible at least with the previous version of Lightning.

I am very frustrated with this version. So I upgraded now now matter what I do I cannot create entries. I have deleted and re-added calendars. The worst part is that is it no possible to go back to a previous working version. Thunderbird gets an error. There also seems to be limited support. I know it is free but this is really dissapointing.

Oh, nice plugin. The only major things missing from it are 'one click adding of calendars' (minor) and caching to speed things up (major).

Johan Hellstan: I'm not sure why I'm posting this to help someone who is so intemperate about a free add-on to a free piece of software being used to access a free web service.... but here goes.
Google changed the text. You now want 'calendar settings'. To get to the calendar settings click the little down arrow next to the calendar you want.
You'll see some icons, right click to copy the XML link.
To create your own collections, you must have a Mozilla Add-ons account.
