Someone somewhere touched a running system ... like many other users I have had repeated requests from google since yesterday to sign in in order to synchronize my calendar. Now google is complaining that there has been too much activity with this add-on. Not surprising when thousands of users all try to rescue their appointments at the same time! So who changed something - google or firefox? Please change it back again, and quickly!

For those who think this is obsolete: No it isn't. It has significantly more capabilities then the built-in provider. I switched today because of errors and am unable to view several calendars. Delegated/shared calendars, for example, don't show up. And you can apparently have only one Contacts calendar, which means I have to choose only one of my three Google accounts for that. Not sure why Mozilla can't do as good a job as this developer did.

Hi, thanks for this dev and addon ! For few days, we notice the problem "Erreur 403 : rate_limit_exceeded". Google explains : could you increase the maximum connection rate of the app ?
Regards

Thank you Szabi. Your solution works perfectly. But you have to import link for each google calendar separately, if you have more than one.

It's sad but true.
Thunderbird Calendar does not support Google Tasks.
And there are no actual add-on for TB to do that.

The solution for more than 1 calendar in Thundebird:
1. copy the "secret address in iCal format" link from google calendar settings
2. add a new calendar to your TB, and insert this link

I absolutely disagree with the obsolete statement!
As stated by other advanced users: the stock implementation of thunderbird does NOT support shared private google calendars.
EDIT: Philip Kewisch commented the current issue on his twitter: error should be gone in a few days. See: https://twitter.com/pkewisch/status/1485690970624643074?cxt=HHwWhMCy4Z6Enp4pAAAA
EDIT2: my error disapeared.

Thank your very much for your great Add-on. It is now obsolete, adding google calendars in thunderbird works fine (just add network-calendar with your gmail, some users report, it took some time or a restart until the calendars appeard)

Want to thank for the good work in the past years. This app was extremely useful for me
Currently it doesn't work - see comments below and I heard it might even be obsolete - still not figured out how to get calendars synced w/o this app. Anyhow, a big thanks.
Update1: Took a while and a restart - then it worked w/o the add-on

Error 403:
Solution COPYING HERE so you don't have to look for it.
You don't need that add-on anymore. It's now very easy to connect your Google Calendar to Thunderbird. All you need to do is go to the File menu > New > Calendar > On the network. Enter your Gmail address in the User name field and click Find Calendars. A webpage will open for you to sign in to your Google account and grant Tbird access. From there it should be smooth sailing. One less incompatible add-on to worry about.

Error 403: rate_limit_exceeded
+++ LÖSUNG +++
Das Add-on braucht man mit dem aktuellen Thunderbird gar nicht mehr. Das Add-on einfach deinstallieren und Google-Kalender neu importieren.
