Since I switched to MAC, no session manager has worked. This one works, but only in full manual mode, and I must double-click the last session, restore button does nothing. If it works in manual why doesn't it work in auto? You already are able to catch all the necessary events, in spite off the window staying open in background BS in MAC.

The Session Manager addon is unbelievably good. When I first activated it, I had doubt in mind. I though that when the mighty firefox itself is not that good in recovering the lost sessions and the *.bak file fails to recover the session after manually renaming it, how can addon do that more precisely! But in all my surprise I found this addon to achieve 100% success in recovering sessions after all types of session endings - freezing due to flash, power outage, system crash, unintentional restarts and normal Firefox closing.

The sublime session manager. Executes its tasks with absolute perfection.
I'm serious. This session manager is excellent.

Not the first one I install, but once I have AdBlock Plus, NoScript, possibly KeySnail and Tab Mix Plus that's generally when I install this one. Those are my standard minimum setup and Session Manager means that the firefox profile I'm using has been meant for serious use now, not just testing stuff.
Also, a method, other than "save all tabs", to archive certain windows (or "type of" windows - *cough*) is next to awesome - and though there's a nasty joke in there I'm not talking about just "questionable" stuff - I have saved windows folders, for example, for different subjects related to programming.

Works as advertised so far, and has saved my tab groups each and every time. Won't install FF without it.

Just lost huge amount of research. The new tab groups is a powerful tool but worse than worthless if its not stable. Get pop-up that session is having some problem saving. When I closed FF, there remained a full page pop-up with JSON all over it. Sorry should have copied/screenshot it. Have been using this for years, hope you can get it stable but I can't take risk trusting it anymore. -Just managed to restore from deleted sessions folder.

I don't like Firefox without Session Manager. So I had to get back to version 28 :/
I tried hard though :(
2014-9-8, Forgot to update, works again since FF 31 (at least) :)

When Firefox first added Tab Groups I was absolutely thrilled with the exponential increase in FF's ability to handle and organize large numbers of tabs. However, I was simultaneously baffled at how they neglected to add what I thought was an obvious need created by this new Tab Group system: the ability to handle and organize the Tab Groups themselves.
Before I discovered Session Manager, Tab Groups were merely a nice way of uncluttering a window with a large number of tabs during a browsing session. WITH Session Manager, Tab Groups are a powerful way of quickly accessing large amount of oft-used, topic-specific sites during any browsing session you happen to need it, while keeping them isolated from anything else you have open.
I do have ONE suggestion for Session Manager:
A one-click "Quick Save" option that would save each Tab Group in a separate session with the Tab Group Name as the Session Name, automatically overwriting any other session with the same name. Perhaps it could automatically add the Session Name as the Tab Group Name when it gets restored as well. That would make this extension essentially perfect IMO :)

Unite undo the tab and undo the window at one add-on. Very good at all!

(Disclaimer: I don't know the author.) I downloaded Michael's update 0.8.1.1 today and have it working in Austalis (on a very heavily modded FF installation). Austalis is deeply changed, so anyone having problems - I recommend disabling extensions one by one while leaving this on and testing (ask me how I know). AS WELL... Australis may require you to reset localstore.rdf (see the note at 'classic theme restorer').
I just want to say that Michael has done an impeccable (and consistent) job on a great and tremendously useful product over the years.
Austalis broke lots of stuff, including a large portion of mozilla user-base confidence. This is going to take some time "all around". Lets not blame the extension authors too soon for retooling upgrades they are gonna be facing probably for a while longer.
