I set it to backup the last 10 crashed sessions. Upon crashing 3x in a row, I went to restore my initial session. I found it only had backed up the last crashed session. I've now lost over 50 links and will need to sort through thousands of links in "History" to find them. Yay!

EDIT: Thankfully the TabsGroup add-on I have automatically backs up some sessions by default, which means I at least have not lost all those links. However this bug is still present and should be addressed!

La interfaz podria ser más parecida a la de Firefox pero esta integrado de maravilla y colabora perfectamente con el historial.

So after some further reading, it appears that the issue might lie beyond this addon. Giving the benefit of the doubt, I've updated my rating back to 5 stars in the hope that the issue will be resolved and that it was unrelated to this addon. My original review remains below.

**********

This piece of software has been very useful to me over the years and I would have given it five stars without hesitation, unfortunately it seems to be dying. Fundamentally it doesn't seem to be coping with the newer versions of Firefox (14/15 upwards). Seems to routinely die trying to save sessions and will frequently re-open sessions with some or all of the tabs erased (i.e. blank tabs). This later bug is disastrous for sessions that are autosaves.

I hope the developer can get this back to its once great status, but for now I cant recommend it. I'm going to try some other alternatives again like Tab Mix Plus or something and see if they are working more reliably.

This software once was the best session manager on the market. Now it's virtually useless. With FFox updates it now starts to crap out in way less than 2 hours and fails to work in any useful way. You can't save sessions any longer so you basically lose all your newly opened tabs completely.

Bug reports only result in answers that blame Firefox bugs, instead of the creator raising hell with Firefox over the fact that they (according to him) have destroyed his software's functionality.

A shame.

Like I explained to you, there is likely a problem with your profile (or another add-on) triggering the Firefox bug since the majority of users have no problems. In fact you are the only person complaining of lost sessions every 2 hours. You didn't want to do basic troubleshooting so I can't help you.

Works with the "don't load tabs until selected" feature and is an essential recovery and research project manager!

This extension indispensable, but panorama support and tabs drag & drop functionality would make FF most useful browser ever!

Totalement indispensable !

Since all the users feedbacks of the add-one "Session Manager" are written in English, I decided to write my review in Polish which is my native language.
Trudno przecenić zalety "Session Manager'a", który uratował moje zakładki i pomógł w kryzysowych sytuacjach (czyli awariach bądź to systemu bądź samej przeglądarki) niezliczoną ilość razy.

Every option you can imagine. Save to where, what group or subgroup, how many windows. Everything

If you don't know where it is saving: Session Manager-> Options -> Advanced change default location.

Best session manager yet

This is a great addon and have used for years. Version 0.7.9 does not appear to be compatible with DownThemAll! 2.0.13 in firefox 4.0.1 It's not that big of a deal for me but I would like to be able to use both again someday.

Using the "Open Session Folder" option from Session Manager (0.7.9) does not appear to provide a way to click on an individual .session file and automatically perform the equivalent of a "Load Session", as one would reasonably expect. If Session Manager provided an open-file type dialog (wherein the meaning of "open" was defined as "open and load an existing .session file") it would be a big improvement.

Ideally, if Session Manager allowed the user to designate an external "named session folder", and included a "Save Session As" option which defaulted to this common folder, groups of users could easily share & load named sessions, without modifying or interfering with their private session repository. Changing one's private session repository to a common folder (as was suggested in one review) is problematic, because Session Manager is regularly saving temporary sessions specific to individual instances of Firefox which would likely interfere with one another.

This is a very useful tool, but would benefit significantly from a few simple extensions of it's functionality.

This extension is great if you are browsing a certain topic with several tabs open and want to come back to it later without leaving them open. Which slows down your computer. Or adding them to your bookmarks, which clutters them up. It is also better than bookmarking because it retains all your forward and back button history. It has several settings for advanced users. One handy trick is to set the “Saved Sessions Location” setting to your dropbox folder. If you do this on multiple computers your saved sessions will be synced automatically without having to import and export your sessions all the time. One setting that I think needs to be changed is the “Replace Existing Windows” under the “Saving & Restoring” tab. Other than that I think that the default settings will be good for most users.

SM is one of the most useful addons! Please add the integration with group management (native and by addons) so that it would be possible to save and restore separate tab groups, additionally to just save/restore windows.

This is my most important extension when installing Firefox on a new computer. I am a tab addict and frequently have dozens of tabs open; Panorama lets me group them now, but it's even more important to be able to save them. Before I had Session Manager, I bookmarked the tabs I wanted to save; now I have hundreds of bookmarks that I don't recognize. Loading sessions makes it easier to see at a glance what I was saving the pages for, and if I need to weed out old pages, it's easier to do that too.

Because the crash / shutdown feature of firefox 3 does not work 100 % on firefox 12 I found this wonderful add-on as a solution.

Thanks
