Eigentlich ein gutes AddOn, aber leider ohne Cache. Daher für mich unbrauchbar.

Like it, but it slows down Firefox. It also freezes Firefox while updating.

Using the add-on with the Thunderbird, I experienced some problems.
1. It seems that Bamboo doesn’t support non-Latin letters in path to the folder with feeds file. At least under Windows/NTFS.
2. Each time Bamboo checks a feed and it contains new items, it clones the list of items to the storage and thus removes old entries. For example, xkcd.com has only 4 items in its RSS feed, and Bamboo keeps exactly 4 last items from xkcd, no more. The user merula described the same problem below. Julien, could you answer, is that a bug or a feature?
3. I need to add the web page URL manually each time I add a new feed. All other tools I tried can find a URL automatically.
Below are suggestions.
4. Refreshing can take significant time, and while it lasts I can’t see, which feeds contain unread entries. I would prefer not to see refreshing icon or see it near the number of unread items, not instead.
5. It will be great to remember, how to show each feed: collapsed or expanded, with unread entries or not.
But for all that I am impressed with many interesting and useful features of the add-on. The low score follows from the removal of old entries, that makes Bamboo unacceptable for me.

I have mixed feelings so far, by ecample I have subscribed a feed which has about 50 items/articles today so far (and certainly yesterday at least so many, too) and I did not read one of them for the last 2 days but only 15 items from today (last 2 or 3 hours) are shown in Bamboo so does it clear or delete entries under certain conditions (more than x items, after closing Firefox or something like that) ? But that would be rather ridiculous, I expect that I can still read articles (shown in Bamboo) after 2 or 3 or even many more days if I do not mark them as read or delete them, of course
So what can be the reason for this ? I cannot find a recycle bin or trash in Bamboo so far so I cannot check if it deleted items or marked them as read so that they are away but I think that it does not show several items or just deletes them under certain conditions which is not very comfortable and not the way a feed reader should work
And how does one delete single items from the list after having read them (or not) ? Clicking on "Delete" deletes the whole feed so one has to resubscribe it, rather counterintuitive in my opinion

Bamboo is easily one of the most useful and well-made addons ever made for a web browser. It's builtin, customizable and handy.
It's not just works, it works better.

Please add delete entries option. It would be great!

I Love this feeder!
but lately there has been a problem when I update the feeds since the new update. There's a triangle with an exclamation mark on the side of some feeds, the links are good and names aren't change and that triangle appears randomly within my feeds, some day one has the triangle the other doesn't. Oh and when that triangle appears feeds doesn't update, I have to refresh and then they update.

Hi Julien,
I love your add-on!
lately I upgraded my firefox to 36.01 and Bamboo to 2.1.2 and now everytime bamboo updates its feeds - firefox freezes (not responding) until Bamboo finishes its update interval.
Any idea what can I do ?
Tnx
Hi,
is this happening within a brand new Firefox profile?
In this case please send me more information by email. (bamboo.feedreader@gmail.com)

At least not MacOSX. Upgrade to the OS has obliterated the cache and therefore all my feeds.

Edit:
I find it a bit rude of you to imply I am unable to read. The poor placement of the version information on the addon page made it easy to overlook. That said, I apologize and have removed the misinformation from my review.
I really like this addon and the functionality it provides. It is evident that a lot of work went into this, and I appreciate that.
Overall, I find the UI quite tasteful, but two minor quirks are leaving a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.
1) I am not a fan of CSS3 text shadows and would much prefer bold text to indicate selected feeds and groups.
2) Icons on the feed entry list are not aligned in a straight line when both short and long timestamps (e.g. "11:20" and "03/03/2015") are present, which is somewhat displeasing to the eye.
Last but not least, I find the lack of sync capabilities rather disappointing.
With these little annoyances removed, this addon could easily be a 5/5 for me.
I regret that you are not able to read informations available on this page (see version information).
EDIT: *able to find (sorry for my awkward english)
Bamboo is an open source software.
All sources are available in the add-on file.
The development process is not collaborative and do not use tools like GitHub because i do not have enough time for managing contributions.
You could customize the add-on style without creating your own version by using your userContent.css file.

How about add configuration options for each update to the latest news individually?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1.1-signed).This will not be implemented.
You could only choose between all feeds or favorite feeds.

No automatic updates. No counters on tool bar icon. These are basic items that should be included in a news reader.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1.1-signed).Automatic updates could be activated from the option tab and update menu.
The toolbar button text could also be customized.
